A:No they do not veg in order to be cloned or regenerated

Q: Can auto's be as potent in THC levels as normal plants?

I do not have that much experience with them, of course I see them, have smoked them and etc. But, in all honesty, anything autoflower I see I cull it straight away. I don't want Ruderalis to spread its filthy genes any further than it already has.

Q: Can auto's be as potent in THC levels as normal plants?
The answer for me would be yes and no.

I'll try to explain. THC is of course the primary ingredient in getting 'high', but it is not the only ingredient. For the utmost potency, psychedelic effects you need the right combination of accessory cannabinoids, terpenoids and aromatics (think aromatherapy, lemon smells give you clearer more awake feelings).

THC on it's own is not as powerful a drug as when it is combined with the right Terpenoids. With the addition of the right aromatics, it is even more profound in effects. These traits, man has been selecting for thousands of years.

Ruderalis, which form a large part of the 'Autoflowering' genepool is ditch weed and horrid, dirty crap. Which should have been burnt, but the Dutch gave it to the world when searching for faster, bigger, faster Cannabis.

When combined with perfect Drug Cannabis, selected for thousands of years for the important properties above, it can only dilute, not improve potency. It also has quite a negative effect on the terpenoids, and aromatics.

So, for me, I don't think these types of plants can be the utmost in potency, but, they can be just as high in THC possibly.

Of course, not all auto-flowers contain Ruderalis blood, according to many. But, for me I would need to see science based proof and breeders linage doesn't provide that for sure. Ruderalis got everywhere in the Dutch pool and hence to the world. Its ditch weed, I don't want to smoke Ditch Weed..

Q: Do auto's need the same supplements as normal plants?
Yes. Its still Cannabis.

Q: If you pollinate a auto will it produce auto seeds of the same caliber?
Most unlikely. Most are not stable, thus most will not produce true. Some can and do but most likely you will create a widely variable F2 generation with a lot of crap, if not all crap.

Q: or will it create auto seeds at all?
Some do not. Some percentage will show auto-flower plants in the F2 this is Dependant on the seed stock you start with.

Q: Are auto seeds best for northern ( United Kingdom ) outdoor grows?
No, they are too short, don't yield enough. They are not selected properly for mold and plague resistances in most cases. There are better choices. 5lb plants are possible, you wont see yields like this (or quality) in auto-flowering varieties.

I'm not a great fan. But, didn't like to see the thread bare. Quite a good way to lay out questions and question's are cool.

Peace! HHF

Sure puts me off the idea of growing a AF i aint a fan of the ditch weed at all bongsmilie

This is why im growing my own because in the uk ditch weed is what goes around i started off with the high caliber potent strains from power plant, amnesia, wonder haze, shiva haze and super silver haze and they were all mind blowing to smoke so when it all stopped comeing around i was left to really on the usual uk stuff which was not up to scratch by miles

and i like my smoke :eyesmoke:

But your response did give me something to think about, if it contains high levels of THC in some strains but low levels of everything else it could make a nice base mix with other weeds because the joint in total will be higher in THC and retain other chemicals from the non AF strain weed instead of using tobacco. which to me sounds like a good way to get super high but then again so would just rolling a huge joint of potent bud :bigjoint:

But i don't see how there would be such hype over it if in fact it was ditch weed. It is something i may have to experiment myself in order to find out if its what its made out to be or over played for the mere fact its quick to grow

ive grown autos outside in the greenhouse...the summer wasnt that good...maybe three days in the week in sunshine the rest cloudy....they were slow in veging stage....grew nice after that even with the crap weather...grew to 1 meter high in a big pot...only used tomato nutes on them and they gave me just over 1 ounce per plant....loads of crystals on them...really nice smoke...got to say they were just as nice as anything i was buying...now the only thing is they took 15 weeks from start to finish...not too sure if that was the weather or not....going to try indoors under 250w hps dual spectrum light in a few weeks so i'll keep you posted...want to know if they grow in the 8 weeks like they are supposed to...anyone out there that can confirm this post it on here.....along with anything else that might help...hope this helped.......still worth doing outside each summer....plant them around june time...theres more light...i planted in april on 12-13 hours this might have been why they were slow at first...cheers....dont moan-grow your own..
