I'm surprised with a person of your intellect was able to actually get the "memory on motherboard" concept correct. Good for you little buddy.

*ruffles your hair... you go run along now, let the adults in the room talk for a little while. ok?

I thought he and I were the same age approx....it makes me ashamed of my generation a bit if that's true.
From this statement I get the feeling you're older than me.
Aren't you ashamed for all generations since the dawn of time? I am. And I take much calm, in the present moment, just over that.

Idk if I can be ashamed of them all, I am not convinced we are aware of them all, or able to pinpoint the dawn of time correctly...this brings me a calm fuzzy feeling just the same.

Going to give some here dry heaves when I mention this, but... I learned to code on punch cards. OMG the nightmares of waiting in line to feed a stack and dropping my pile. I learned PLC, the language of the future!!, and never saw it used in any practical sense whatsoever. I see Lotus123 in Excel, and maybe C++ as an improved Fortran/PLC, but wow, Cobalt, Snoball, even basic.. It hurts to think about it.

I still have my DOS3.1 floppies. Can't seem to part with them.

It occurs to me that the DMI I practice here, on some, is very similar to a device DMA. Weird, huh?

I mastered hypercard once.

Grasped C++ enough to get a job offer contracted by a networker, it paid 10 per hour....my butcher job paid 18......seems I rode a deflating bubble.
