Hello all.
I an dabbling in breeding with jillybean. I have 1 male in flowering I plan to bx with jb and cross with holy grail 69. I will provide pics if needed but onto the question. The pheno has a floral and licorice smell. The smell has changed several times from danky to skunky to orange. It has sativa dominant leaves. Topped once and provided 2 colas with lots of side branching. It is fairly tall with some moderate stretching.
Could this be a romulan pheno?
I have searched bing and Google but im having trouble finding good info on phenos.
Thanks in advance....blue

I got a Jilly Bean cross just entering 12/12, my pheno is very candyshop smelling. I don't know much about the parents but I had an orange smelling pheno years before which smoked much better.
Why would you bx the JB? It is already very highly recessive. Crossing the BX with an F1 will result in plants very similar to the F1, but weaker.

Thats funny you mentioned it changed smells on you. Mine did the same. Seems to be a pretty good producer but everything not touching direct light is total larf and the buds are all pretty small. No long banana style colas for me. I ran it three times and i think this is the last run on it. On to bigger and better things. I did like that orange smell and the total weight on it, but indoors it takes up too much room for not enough potency or big sellable buds. If your making hash it would be great though if you have all the room in the world.

That girl is a beauty. Yea I have heard of the yield issue before. I'm in a less than legal state So outdoors is hard to pull of for me. In general I run perpetual under 1200 or 1800w hps for flower. Train top and mainline my personal strains. And just top my "commercial" stuff. I chose the jb for a daytime smoke and rhino for nighttime. I'm looking to bx the jb to try and isolate some of the older genetics to outbreed with either an Afghan or rhino to find a cross that my clientele likes more. I have 2 extremes I'm trying to breed to. The mind warping effects of sativas and the body punch sit down stone of indic as.

If you'l bx the JB and cross it with an afghan (and also rhino) your plants will deeply lean toward afghan phenos as the afghan is way more dominant than a JB bx

That is pretty much what I was thinking. That being said what would be the best approach to isolate the faster sativa phenos. I have a cheese candy and some bubble gum I was thinking would be good for that concept.
