What I do to block smell is 24/7 run an inline fan running with a carbon filter venting outdoors. The carbon filter is kept outside the grow. It's nice because it never stays smokey, constant fresh air without opening a window. I do more of a sealed room in the grow area but If I had independent exhaust I would also put carbon filters on them. For me it's convenient because I run this air through my hoods to cool my lights. The carbon filter is placed outside the grow in the living room area. This way no matter what my entire place always has negative pressure even when any inline fans kick on to cool the room during winter. Many people like me are immune to the smell because we are around it all the time. I just borrow a trusted friends nose to scout all around my place for odors. I' m told once inside it smells big time but never outside. If you need to hide your exhaust going out your windows just gut out an old air conditioner have it vent through that. Not everyone removes their AC in the winter I notice all over town anyway. But I also wouldn't be surprised if there was at least a grow or 2 on every city block anyway. One very important thing to pay attention to with having strong negative pressure is your furnace exhaust. If too strong it will suck it in through the flute of the chimney. Always have a reliable carbon monoxide monitor. It can kill you.
GREAT advice @radrolley, thanks! At least most of the advice is sound-- installing an a/c in an apartment in Anchorage in March when its 25 degrees F immediately following legalization, uhhhh, might just be more suspicious than reeking of dank lol!

Fortunately I think I have odor dialed for the dry, and the amt of setup was minimal. Right at lights on I chopped 70% of the plant and 2 others, pulled most of the fan leaves and hung the buds on lines in cardboard boxes. Then I placed the boxes immediately against my tent's passive vent, where there's minimal but some air circulation. This means airflow goes from the room into the tent, bringing all the smells with it, where its filtered and vented. When lights are on (night) I keep the door open and hot filtered air blows out the tent into our living room in an open loop. When lights are off (day) the door stays closed, and the tent's carbon filter more or less filters the whole room in a mostly closed loop. Discerning noses tell me they smell nothing... but who knows. Alaska is adult legal, so I face no real risk, except loss of home if my landlord's not down. But I'm not asking him, and worst case moving is something we (me and my lady) can live with.

Words, words words... lets show some pix eh?! :joint::joint::joint:

She was beautiful!

What are the characteristic smells of the Void?
Musty grape with the baby poo. Might sound awful but I love it. Planted 5, 4 popped, 3 were girls. Uniformity in their hybridy stoniness and smell but not in thier growth- 1 was tall loose(r) wands, one was shorter with hard crystally nickel-sized nugs and the 3rd was between them. They cloned well but I mislabled the c uttings and accidentally only kept my second choice, ran it once and let it go. Loose wands are the full-plant pic, the tight shots are the hard lady. Only have a few nugs of her left!

Despite its other name as Purple Apollo 13 none turned purple.

I think I recall seeing that you were going to pop some Voids @Mohican ... has that happened yet?

GRAPE INFERNO(QUERKLE DOM PHENO) DAY 56. This is my 2nd run of her and she is true to her Querkle parent. The fade came on hard at 6 weeks with that beautiful dark burgundy/black while the fan leaves on the bottom of the plant had more of the yellow/burgundy, perfect fade imo. The nugs are small but they're hard as rocks. She wasn't a big yielder on the first run, I got a little over 5 zips, so I'm anxious to see what I pull off her this time. I have her in veg atm and will grow her larger on this run. She had a normal x2 stretch and did just fine with the 10 gallon pot filled 1/2 with super soil. The smell is 70 sour to 30 grape. the sour really comes out in the taste when I press my tongue on the roof of my mouth on the exhale, like first few seconds of putting a life saver in your mouth and you can feel your saliva glands contract. We've both smoked it in the daytime and never felt tired or sluggish and it was a really good high, nothing weak about it. Even the wife said it has a sour/grapey smell and taste with not a hint of the Fire OG to be found. My other keeper is all Fire OG, so I have the best of 2 worlds. She's being harvested this weekend. I'll be taking pics in a few hours when the lights come on.

Very informative. Roughly how long did you veg the one that got 5 zips?

Nice!!! I just started playing in the dirt. I'll probably be making my first batch of super soil soon. I'm sure I'll fuck something up a time or to but that's how we learn right? Awesome looking girls Mason.
You won't F up super soil as long as you follow the directions. Letting it sit and cook for at least 6 weeks and making sure everything is mixed really good is what matters. I do it in the summer time, mix it on a tarp, wet it down with the hose, cover it up w/ the same tarp and that's it.

Yea I was more so talking about using too much or too little. I guess if I use too little I can always add nutes until I figure out the perfect ratio for each strain. Do you use teas and such or just water after the transplant until finished?

Just water. If I'm running a strain for the first time, I fill the pot with 50% SS. If it starts to fade too soon, I top dress asap, if you wait too long to top dress you'll be chasing it the whole time. On the next run I'll just add more SS. I went from a little under 50% to about 2/3rd's SS on my timewreck and it just sucks it up with no burn.
