Greetings ~
A update on the tester's tent.. temps were a bit on the cooler side under LEDs (~70°f) and it's the last half of the flowering cycle, so I've decided (remembered) to bust out the 400w ballast & HPS. Now temps are ~75°f with lots of added orange light to finish flowering.

I hope you're all doing well, as best as can be.. ✌

Day 74 // 49 Flower

Greetings ~ Happy Thursday!

I have been experimenting with the ballast strength and am settling at 75% to avoid heat stress. At 100%, leaves started tacoing and pistils wilting more, have not tried 'super'.. the ACI 67 controller does a good job at keeping desired levels. It's set to 74°f/55% day & 50% nightly, temps get down to around 62° in the small tent with no heat added.

A quick video tour including a track from Tipper. They're getting sticky, fragrant, plump and gaining some color.

Hope you're all enjoying/getting through the day ~ :leaf:

The testers are coming along, have been in autopilot for a couple weeks now.

The Rainbow Beltz crosses are coming out very nice; they have an oily/greasy resin compared to the LCG cross which is growing more grainy type resin, also nice. :) One B.OGxLCG plant I was going to toss (to make room for others) is turning out surprisingly well, strong and tight buds, and the smell... Wow! Sweet and hashy. All the testers are coming out very strong terps so far. Still a bit of time to ripen before harvesting, but looking forward to trying and sharing about it once it's done. ✌

Greetings All ~
Quick update, got a video of the testers. They're cruising along. Can smell each time walking by or opening tent. If I'm feeling (f)risky, I'll rub a sugar leaf's trichomes off to get an in-depth stench. Scents I'm getting are spice, cream, lime-citrus, sweet candy/bubblegum, gas & dough.

Video from 02/29 - day 63 since flip

All plants are growing towards maturity, although I'm definitely looking forward to running the clones in the big tent with an irrigation system and more light/space.

No nanners or any other intersex traits from each seed besides PJxRB. Plucked lower sacs on the GSC heavy cross Purple Jelly (Thin Mintz x Jealousy) during the first couple weeks of flower and they have since been growing well with noticeable stickiness reeking of candy & dough mixed with gas.

03/02 - day 65

Greetings All ~ have a few notes and pics to update! Plants are now being given a low (finishing) EC watering every other day to finish out this cycle. Temps have been steadily climbing and have switched to using 25% of power (ballast) for the past week to manage tent heat (~78/79°f) while lights are on.

TY for the kind words Sir!
I read that last comment of yours to my wife after laughing and she said "maybe at your house!"

It was all grey and drab yesterday...
Whole different day now!

Quite the difference @sfw1960! Don't have a pic to share, but it was a clear sky this morning and flowers have bloomed. A couple stray cats (long haired kiddos) are coming around.. we're feeding and left out a bed. Sad they're outside, hopefully someone see em and brings em inside. We already have 4 cats meow, lol! I'm guessing you don't have many stray cats in the area?

It's supposed to be in the lower 20’s overnight and come Monday the 50's, so it'll be sloppy and wet until the snow is gone.
I wish you could take them in too!
There's always a few strays around here but some folks let them run wild and don't take VG care of them, which is sad too. On one hand they hunt and kill things and on the other - they too get hunted and killed by other creatures. We have one and she's our little angel. We said we would not have any more after the two buddies (brother & sister) both passed within a short period. Roosevelt got sick with some mysterious skin affliction and we believe Eleanor passed away from a broken heart because they were that tight...
Maybe I'll send you a pic later.
I've always liked to ice fish but with global warming not being real and all, I haven't dared go out on iffy ice in a few years.
You have some major frost looking fiyaaa there!

Let's go crazy...
OK not really.
I have reduced the light period and am going to crank things a little.
Vietnamese x Angel Wing Afghan and the Banana OG x Icy Grape are chugging along with the others. Getting crowded in there and will need to fire up another space shortly. (Don't mind the bleached green beans!)
Thanks for letting me invade space with your generosity @k0rps !
I'm liking what I see....

20240413_192133_copy_1301x1735_1.jpg

Plants have been getting P1 irrigation cycles for the last couple weeks. Yesterday, irrigation timer was set to start P2 bulk cycles (thinking maybe a week early). Will see how plants look today and if they could hold off another week of P2 cycles, saves on water/nutes also! Gotta love that..

Yesterday, a Free Seed Day event was put on by the grower/breeder Masonic. I went with a bunch of beans and got to pass them out, next time I'll be bringing more! It was an awesome community event filled with high vibes and smiles. Definitely feeling grateful to meet other growers and getting to release seeds out into the wild! Here's what I came back with..

Bro that's sweeeet like Christmas lol, WOW I gotta find a place like that. Your going to have some fun. Yea so I don't know why or how but your bean is the only one still going strong after my environment killing other strains had going. All learning curve with indoor, at least I know, need humidity in winter and heat source for night and see what summer does. Should be ok now with the weather at nights now and humidity. Humidity been 28 to 30s and nighttime was getting cold and room went down to 63. Peace brother ~

Could be older beans? Just assuming, someone correct me if I'm wrong.. As an example, the Orange Creamsicle x Western Grail seeds that were sent to CC (made in 2020) didn't make it whereas the fresher "Highlander" Freeze 7 seed did.. but that could have been environmental also.. It's tough sometimes, seeds get off to a rough start.. but with time in the proper environment, they usually come around. As long as it's nothing like fungi or bacterias in the soil that inhibit growth.. that's another story.

How did the seeds look? A humidifier and heater are a couple helpful tools for keeping the environment stable for plants.. an oil filled heater lasts longer (I think) and is considered more safer than forced air. A diy humidifier is a fun and simple project that gets you lot's of humidity in a relatively short amount of time.

5 gal bucket, 4" fan, 3 disk mist maker and float setup to an inkbird (or similar) humidity controller. You can also cut corners of ziploc baggies and place them over each individual pot (if small enough) to create lil humidity domes on the fly, works well.

That is great news to hear the plant is making it! The purple jelly (thin mint x jealousy) was a super nice plant and combined with rainbow belts, she should bring some terpy frost with gas on the backend, usual for Seed Junky's strains.. The harvested flowers have been curing nicely and the PJxRB cross is my favorite to open. Peace bro! Happy Sunday :blsmoke:
