Tent configuration question

I can't seem to find anything about "proper" tent configuration. I can just about piece it together - but what IS the ideal placement of all your equipment?

For example, let's say a small - average size tent: passive air intake from the bottom with an inline fan and carbon filter INSIDE the tent? Are there any generalities like that you can share?

Why carbon filter inside. I have negative pressure inside my 4x4 with a 6in fan. The only thing inside my tent are the plants, thr hood, the piping, power strip, and a fan inside the tent. If I actually used a filter, it'd be attached to the end of the fan outside the twnt scrubbinf the air the fan is pulling away from the light inside the tent.
