i don't if this is the best, but it has worked well for me, very cost effective
MG Organic bone meal(6-9-0) and molasses
into 2 quarts of water, 1 tsp bone meal and 1 tsp molasses, keep well aerated, brew for 3 weeks(or longer)
i use nothing else for feeding, but it does smell rather foul

If it smelled rather foul it was not good for your babies. The foul smell means it was aneorobic wrong kind. A good properly brewed tea will not have a foul smell. Good Luck dirrtyd

there's foul and really foul, i know what you mean
it is better described as an unpleasant, funky odor
but i have left it inadvertently un-aerated for a few days, and that is true foulness, that was anaerobic
i have had nothing but good results with this tea

That organic mg is from porcine or pig. The dr. earths products I use are way better then mg and all you have to do is use 1/2 cup to every gallon plus a tbs of unsulfered mollasses, stir everytime you remember to during a 24hr period and its ready to serve.

I disagree on the foul smell being bad. I worked at a plant nursery and we produced liquid compost and it isn't the best smelling but is extremely powerful for an organic fert and it smells like rotten eggs. We use food scraps, lawn trimmings, oak leaves, folliage from plants, chicken and steer manure, worn casting, humus, perlite, and more. It is bomb. Also this company called great big plants makes some liquid fert and it is awesome.

it is pig - i like this because it recycles what would otherwise be a waste product
i probably spend about 20 cents for 1 plant's nutes for a grow, if that much

I'm representing the Compost Tea Party. I use bacterial teas (for foliar feeding) and fungal teas (for soil drenching).

You can use your tea within 12 hours and shouldn't let it brew for more then 3 days!

I would also advocate using something like this, I would just add a tbsp of molasses per gal of water.

You don't need to add any liquid fertilizers, unless it's seaweed which would be a great addition as well.

5 gallon bucket
aquarium pump with airstone
cheese cloth (or nylons, they work to)
1 tbsp Bat Guano (high N)
1tbsp Seabird Guano (high P)
1 cup Worm castings
2 tbsp Fish emulsion
2 OZ's (60 ML's) Black Strap Molassis

put castings and guano's into cheese cloth, stretch tight and tie off. put the emulsion and the mollasis into the water, stir the molasses into the water. turn the fish pump on for 2 days minimum and you have an awsome all purpose fertalizer.

use more guano with N for veg and more with P for flowering, you can tweek it to whatever your plants need whenever they need it :)
