heres a real pic from a real web camera, about 10 protesters there, the other 1.5 million are government employees happily going about their day,

hers a pic of the Feds picnic they had on the same day.

ABC estimated the crowd at 2 million. But you know how much the media lies.

So, again, instead of relying on firsthand reports from people who live and work in DC and know what a crowd of 1 million+ does to traffic in DC... you're going to rely on an estimate some people came up with by looking at a picture? Yes, there was another event on the mall that day, so all those people are NOT protesters.

Why are no news sources IN DC reporting this crowd of "millions"? Because it's easier to lie to people who live thousands of miles away, that's why.

60-70,000 is more like it. There were nearly a million people in DC for the inauguration, and they had to close roads and run the metro overtime to compensate for the traffic. It took them WEEKS to prepare for a crowd that size. Where were the preparations for this crowd of 2 million protesters? Why weren't there reports of severe traffic congestion around the mall and overloaded metro trains/buses? Simple, there weren't any, because the crowd was not that large.

At no time did ABC News, or its affiliates, report a number anywhere near as large. ABCNews.com reported an approximate figure of 60,000 to 70,000 protesters, attributed to the Washington, D.C., fire department. In its reports, ABC News Radio described the crowd as "tens of thousands."
My mistake, Looking through the sources it looks like they misquoted. Unfortunately No one counts people at these gatherings, its too political, so I will go around saying 1.5 million and you can go around saying 10,000 and neither of us can prove a damn thing since NOT A SINGLE ENTITY COUNTED PEOPLE.

Nobody is saying 10,000
60,000 t0 70,000 looks about right to me and that from liberal biased fire department

I think the DC fire department is probably more qualified to estimate the size of the crowd, seeing as how they have firsthand experience with large crowds in DC. People who live and/or work in DC say the crowd was about what you'd expect to see when the Nationals play. Nationals park seats around 40,000.

The fire department does not make estimation of crowd size, that is an estimation made by a fire fighter, unfortunately if you don't have an aerial view you can only count the people you see and 1 person can only see maybe 1/3 the people that would be there.

Once again ..there is no OFFICIAL number since no agency or organization did any counting whatsoever. SO i can claim 1.5 million and you can claim 70,000 and no one can be proved wrong.

The person claiming 1.5 million can be proven wrong, easily. Ask anyone who lives or works in DC if they experienced any traffic or metro congestion comparable to inauguration day (where there were upwards of 800,000 people on the mall). They'll all tell you NO. No roads were closed to accommodate pedestrian traffic or parking, the metro was not overburdened with passengers and ran on a normal schedule as would be expected with a crowd in the 10's of thousands.

If it takes weeks to prepare for a crowd of 800,000, then how did they manage to pull off a 2 million person protest without disrupting traffic or metro operation with NO preparations?

Have you ever been to DC? That many people on the mall creates a MASSIVE headache in terms of traffic congestion. So, where was the congestion?

Wrap anything in a flag ie: PATRIOT ACT, and these republicans will take it. That one guy talking about Bush keeping us safe sounded like some sort of lunatic fringe. Bush was fixing the mistakes from Clinton and Carter? haha So was America better before or after George Bush took office?

Umm thats not proof of anything, I could find plenty of people from the local area that say the exact opposite thing that your people say, its DC after all, full of liars.

LOL.. okay then, listen to your media/"blogosphere". So, you can find liars in DC, good for you! The people I know have no reason to lie.. maybe you should find some new friends? The fact still remains that there simply weren't a million people there, let alone 2 million.

I just don't see where your getting that I said there were 2 million people there, cuz i didn't. FAR more than 70,000. look at the third pic BTW the mall grounds and the walk ways between were reserved for "Anti" tea party protestors, there you might find a few hundred at the most. Also explains why there are large peopleless sections, they could not use them to protest on.

The DC police made the Parade start 2 hours earlier than was planned due to larger than expected crowds.

I thought they weren't making crowd estimates? Isn't that what you said earlier?

So, if they weren't making estimates how did they come up with the notion that there were too many people in Freedom Square?

Were there a lot of people? Sure there were, but it was by no means a "record number" or anywhere close to a million.

Here we go again, attributing things that people said when they actually said nothing of the sort. who said it was a record turnout? You did.

Who said it was a record turnout? The same "news" agencies that are reporting there were upwards of a million people in attendance.

Perhaps, I guess i am a little biased though, you see I went to my home town on 9/12, I come from a very small town, 11,000 people. They had a tea party at one of the city parks, 2,800 people showed up. the only way you could have gotten more people to show up would be to have free beer and food. Which they didn't. I would have guessed 50-100 people to show up, I consider myself a minority thinker and never figured there were so many like minded people. Especially since our congressmen are all Democrats and have been for decades. Lots of Dems up here.
