Looking good man. Dwarf lookin plants. My vegging look lime that, no offence of course. Great harvest bro

Dont know... depends on what you are comparing... the Mazar is 20 inches, the Bagseed is 31 inches and the Widow is 16 inches. I didnt want to have huge plants cause I found out Pinky was too tall and I couldnt use the CFLs as efficiently. Pinky was 37 inches tall, and I got about an ounce and a half...
From the looks of the Mazar being much smaller, I am able to concentrate the CFls well around her and Im sure ill get at least an ounce off her eventhough she is much smaller.

This is a good point your making here Tatan.
For indoor growing you don't want huge tall plants.
We should all be growing stout plants to use our lighting effectively.
Especially with CFL's.
I don't like to see any of my plants get over 70cm tall (28").
The lights only penetrate so far so what's the point growing 4ft plants if the the bottom half of the plants gets no light?
Short, wide plants, is the way to grow indoors ;).

I'm with Tattan and Mammath on this one - my two are currently measuring 33"+ and it breaks my heart to see all these little buds below not developing well as well as the leafs dying off at the bottom - first grow though and seeing some excellent LST on this site so will know better for next time! Keep up the good work Tattan

I agree with all of that, but can't you position the cfls around the plant (as Tatan has done) in a fashion where the lower branches are receiving almost as much light as the top? To me, that seems to be the real advantage of cfls, that you can move them around the plant easily to get enough light wherever you want it...

Like Jerry said, one of the advantages of using CFLs is that it does allow you to basically put CFL anywhere you want and be able to give side lighting. However eventhough I have been doing that I realized that having Pinky being so tall, I was having to use more bulbs per area of plant being covered. Its just that in my experience smaller plants even with CFL get better lighting. So I have opted more slightly smaller plants.

I was thinking of adding CFLs to my grow for side-lighting, but I think i'm going to go the distance w/o them this time and then try it next time to compare... With a large light you should get sufficient light through your canopy so I wanted to see for myself how big of a difference it makes with just 3-4 plants...

I've been tucking the fan leaves as much as possible to expose the bud sites - this alone should make a difference...

Lol...didn't mean to chat about my grow in your journal Tate... just comparing the latest discussion to my setup... :)

Absolutely.
I have a link to a journal in my thread showing exactly that.
Won't post the link here but yeah, you can grow taller plants and get reasonably good lower buds using side lighting.
I agree.
I'm just saying if you don't have side lighting there's no point in growing your plants too tall. :peace:

Pinky was a great plant, but the spacing between the nodes was a bit long... and eventhough I have sidelighting I could not use light as effectively as with shorter plants (30 inches and below). This is how my closet looks now...

Things are starting to get bushy there, Widow on the left and bagseed in the back :joint::joint:

The Mazar is getting bigger... I think its going to be a good yield...

And one of the Mazar´s buds....

And here are my new White Widow clones that I just put to flower...

I just repotted this one, and tied it with new strings, I think it does kind of look like one of Mammath´s plants :)

This is the other new Widow clone but hasnt been repotted yet.

In my next post ill update the older Widow and Bagseed clone

thye mazar looks fire bro, lets wait and see if she purps up a bit like mine did(not due to the cold). btw ive been puffing it and it is some good smoke. smooth smoke and a very unique aroma/flavor kinda like ruberry/fruity i really not even close to being able to explain it. the aroma is wonderfull tho. full earthy ruberry and fruity and the high is well pretty damn good. it was only about 15% amber so its kind of more of a head stone but it relaxes my body, truly a pleasure to smoke, harsh compared to the big bang but still hasnt even made me cough once, more like full flavored than harsh. and remember I did 0 days of flushing on her and 2 of my big bang and i have to say flushing is worthless when you are growing in coco with GH flora series, better tasting buds came without the flush.....kinda weird they all say you will taste the nutes BULLSHIT now thats different from soil or other grows with other supplements. but for gh flora series and addin AN big bud and botanicare sweet, the unflushed buds tasted better than the flushed ones. they had more flavor
