Tap water conditioners and chloramine question.

I had an emergency situation yesterday. Up until then, I've been using gallons of distilled. I only have a couple plants so it wasn't a huge deal to buy it. However, I over fertilized and had to flush. No way in hell was I gonna buy enough gallons to flush.

Long story short, I went to the pet store and got some tap water conditioner. It removes chlorine and according to the label "breaks the chloramine bond". My question is, after using the conditioner, do I need to let the water sit out? Or is the chloramine instantly removed with the drops? My city uses chloramine BTW.

I put the drops in the water and put the water straight in my plants. I hope it wasn't a bad thing. In the future, I'll probably just stick to tap and the water conditioner from now on and let it sit out for a day or two anyway.

I had no choice yesterday. Do you think I messed up anything? I'm growing organic this time and I hope I didn't destroy all the good microbes in the soil. If I did, it's too late anyway.

Relax, you're fine.

I use the drops also. They work pretty quick, if not instantanious.(?)

I also water quite a bit with just straight tap water. Chloramines and all.

The world doesn't end, the sun still rises in the east and my plants continue growing very nicely, in organic soil.

use tap water and save your money for something your garden needs. if it's safe enough for human consumption it's good enough to grow with.

In my system, the chloramines average 2.9PPM. I've noticed no long term harm to my micro herd.

They do douche the system real good with Chlorine every March for 1 month. You can even smell it. I AM careful to use the drops then.
