Taking pictures?

What's the best way to take pictures? Obviously all my pictures have an orange tint from the lights. I thought maybe someone would know of a filter or something to fix this.

With a macro lens for your good ol' closeups I'm sure you can play with photoshop and adjust the hue/saturation, dick with the colors a tiny bit and come out with a nice photo.

Play with your temperature and white balance settings.

On my smaller digicam (I also have a D-SLR) there is a white balance option called "Tungsten". This seems to help with removing the reddish cast from my HPS.

what kind of camera are you using?

This is probably my problem. I have a fairly crappy camera. It's a fairly old digital and I don't believe I have the ability to temp and white balancer. I'll check it out though. Thanks.

Do you have any photo editing software?

You can always do slight adjustments later (I just uses Apple's Preview app to do minor editing like exposure, contrast, saturation) but of course it's better to get it correct when taking the photo.

I have photoshop. I'll play around a bit. I just thought perhaps there was a standard method that everyone used.

if you force the flash to go off it helps a bit, but that all depends on the size of the flash

yeah, but under an HID lamp, you'd risk overexposure.
