T5 Heat.....?!?!?

So I brain farted and ordered a 6 bulb EnviroGrow T5 fixture...... that was almost exactly the same size as the inside of my cabinet. Looking at the fixture there looks to be enough open area in the hood to allow air to pass through it. The current venting configuration is this. I have just over 6sq inches of passive ventilation opening in the bottom of the cab and a 4" inline duct fan pulling hot air from the top of the cab. There is only about 2" of clearance from the top of the light fixture to the ceiling of the cabinet. I can hear the fan bog noticeably when i close the cab doors. So more passive intake area is obviously needed. But I'm not seeing how a little more intake room will get me from 113 freaking degrees down into the 80's. Will keep tinkering with it... but I don't want to butcher a cabinet cutting holes all in it just stabbing in the dark to see if it will work.

Well part of it was the thermometer being directly in the light.... Placed it in a open ended box and the temp magically dropped into the high 80's. Will monitor temps again today cuz it supposed to get hot out. I may just have to skip intensive growing in July as it's our hottest month. But high 80's is a damned sight better than 113 degrees. Still going to look into a couple whisperquiet PC fans to cool the light fixture better.

Ok, ran through the hottest part of the day and cab temps peaked at 93. The ambient temp in the garage got to 90. So I'd say the addition of 2 4" PC fans pushing air into and the 4" inline pulling air out did the trick. Beans are germed and in starter cups. WE are off to the races.
