switching lighting hours.

I'm wondering if I can go from 24/0 then go 20/4 for a while then go back to 24/0? I have heard that giving them dark periods will give them rest.. (lights on, above the soil grows...lights off below the soil grows) just something I've heard. Any help would be awesome. I have a lot of beauties that have nothing wrong with them and I'd like to keep it like that lol.

i never go more then 18 hours of light and believe plants need sleep. there are alot of people that just do 24 on till flower, but i really can't tell you which is better.

18/6 gives rest, but to me 24/0 gives more photosynth , more light the better, i don't know,,,see if you can squeeze a light cycle secret out of a breeder,,,,,its like getting blood out a stoner,,ha

i do know 2 breeders and one uses 24 on in veg, the other uses 18/6. both throw out killer stuff.

18/6 natural? even our longest day here doesn't have 18 hours day light, and lights aren't natural so we do as we know. everybody has their own thoughts on it and does what they think is best. so with that the op needs to decide what will work best for him. with me it is a small drop on my power bill, and as i was thought to let them have some sleep. i have though about getting a far red led to add for a few minutes after the lights go out.
