hemp that looks grey wont magically look yellow after you apply beeswax. like I said there are different grades of hemp, you can't just pick up any hemp and think you're gonna match the quality of beelasso ;)

I'm guessing the high grade hemp they use looks whiteish-tan before the wax, not grey.

I'm guessing the "high grade" hemp you speak of is bleached.

There is NO natural 100% organic hemp twine that looks as white as beelasso -- except that which is bleached. Yeah, they use H2O2 to bleach the hemp...

The hemp in the picture below is from a source that is documented as 100% organically grown and no chemicals used in processing.

They bleach hemp a lot in the industry to then dye it every which way..

The difference is similar to bleached versus unbleached paper (if that paper was bleached with H2O2)..

The wick I just dipped once burned 1/3 longer than the same length of belasso... I don't know what that means yet...

lets keep this simple, I don't think you have the same kind of hemp, period.

I don't want to debate about it.

if you want to prove you have the same stuff, make some hemp wick and take a pic along with the beelasso, and if it looks just like it and burns with the same taste (or lack of taste rather...) then I'm wrong.

though the taste thing is obviously subjective, and you could either be not very keen on smells, or biased in general... so the pictures will truly tell the tale.

Anything you want sir -- it's your thread. Next time I'll order some 6 strand 20lbs test in bleached white style, dip in some wax, and post some pics.
I thought this would be a good place for free exchange of ideas, but it's never that way when some one invokes the dramatic use of the word "period" to end one of their sentences, elipsis. . .

well I don't like your presumptions that you know everything about the hemp market and that beelasso couldn't have stumbled upon high quality hemp.... so of course I responded like that...

but if you want to talk in a more loose manner with me you will find my response much lighter ;)

Lolz, I never said I knew everything about the hemp market. Perhaps you're picking up on four years spent studying marketing every day. I'm used to writing 60 pages about products like this...
I must say that discussing shit on forums is so depressing after being in the academic environment..

I'll send your pics when this arrives and I dip it..

Yes, this is organic hemp that is bleached with hydrogen peroxide.
It's funny -- most US suppliers are out of stock at the moment..
I did find some and should get it early next week.

beelasso is the exact same as all the other hempwicks. just buy the best deal on ebay. you can get 200 feet shipped to you for less than 18 bucks.

all hemp is not the same some have additives and are of lesser quality of others
sayng all hemp is the same is like saying all cotton is the same
there are some cotton shirts that feel much more soft then others

Nice work. You beat me to asking them.
You can avoid the jute by asking the source.. So far I have avoided jute..

Who'da thunk tibet.. I will go to my local tibetan store (no joke) to see if they have a good source.

Breeders Boutique is representin at the HTCC this year, and we are the only stall that is giving out bongs with Beelasso wick to hit them with. We have had a few nice comments about that. Yesterday I took a spare boulder down and had that on the table to check out. If I had been more prepared (I only got our space at the last minute) I would have asked you to get your friend to ship some stickers, etc over.

Best part of the day, this young Cali guy came up and we had a chat about the Beelasso, and he pulled out some manky organic wick and said this is pure organic, from Cali, and it's WATERPROOF. Is the beelasso waterprrof he asks. Well let me check it out I said, as I dipped the wick into the bong water the preceeded to light it up straight away. YUP, I GUESS IT'S WATERPROOF MATE! lol. He was impressed as well. So please tell your friend we are putting the word out for him!!! I'll get a picture up for you from today!

Peace and hemp wick for all!!!

nice nice bro I have yet to try more than a sample of humboldt traders wick, but it looks like the ONLY hemp wick that is going to beat the quality of beelasso...

and the only reason I say this, is because of the beeswax. organic beeswax can mean the difference between a weird oily aftertaste or a honey aftertaste ya know... I gotta order a roll of the humboldt traders before I am certain.

humboldt traders also makes this cool little glass on glass hemp wick dispenser, I highly recommend those. I'll let you guys know what the final virdict is when I get the humboldt traders wick.
