**Skip story, skip to the bottom and read the question!!**
I have been buying from this friend-of-a-friend formally personal dealer-associate, she more or less has contacts which she helps me access for a fee. I usually purchase in half ounces, $180-200 plus $20-40 access fee. While on the expensive side, I do it because given the circumstances this is my only possible situation, and I don't smoke that much.
Three times I have been 'helped'; the first time I got these really thick nuggets, that were the size of an egg and dense enough that they resisted any sort of compression, when I dropped the bag from a couple inches height it made a heavy-set thump. It was dank and an indica.
Honestly I smoke a lot when coming back from being dry for months, probably a little too much. The next time I bought I received the norm: sweet tasting, pleasant smelling, good looking, but fluffyish and neither that intense indica or sativa, just relaxing and somewhere in-between.
For a reason, an ounce became available. I don't do ounces, as anything over 20 grams here is a felony. As things worked out, in the end I fronted $400 (stupid I know, but I've known and previously dealt with this person before several years back) and an ounce was delivered to me. It was wrapped so I couldn't see the bag appeal, but it was soft, smelled good, and felt like long well-proportioned studded nugs.
When I got home and got it out of the bag, it looked okay. It had a lot of green leaves still on it, which I trimmed off and used for hash oil. The actual buds were quite small, about the size of the pinky finger's nail, and were hidden by proportionate five-fingered leaves all of which were completely crystally.
It was still a bit soft and on the moist side, so it got cured for a couple of weeks and I prefer to leave it out in the air till it becomes dry enough to crumble to tiny bits between the grinding pads of my rotating fingers, but in the end it was on the extremely harsh side. The kind on the way in feels harsh, tastes harsh, and on the way out is re-convincingly and definitely harsh. The high is there, it's a strong up-high but still has undertones of an indica which leaves me in an occasional idle-minded state between being energetic and focused.

Anyways, the harshness of it leaves me not wanting to smoke it. Although I have way more of it than I do of the other two types, the last time I toked on it I noticed that it began to bubble.. have you ever heard of marijuana, without any hash or kief or oil on it, bubbling??
