survey on monthly electrical cost

i would like to start a survey on average monthly electrical cost for indoor grow rooms through out the world . please tell us the country you live in , the type , size and quanity of grow lights . if you are using 110 volts or 220 volts or pirating your power . your cost should be just for your grow room so please subtract your electrical cost that you were being charged before you started your grow room . also if possible total electrical cost from start to harvest and how much fruit your harvest rewarded you with ......

I don't want to tell too many details, but I am in the USA.
Last year, all year round, when I was not growing, my power bill stayed the same for the central heat and for the air conditioner, about $139 a month. I have a 1980 sq ft house.
When I grow, it goes up $7.00 to $10.00 for 8 Spiral 85 watt CFLS, running 24/7 and 4 air pumps and two water pumps. My last grow from 3 females will yield about 14 ounces of dry buds.

I'am in the south of the usa,My grow lights run me per month around $40.00 to $60.00.Thats one 400 watt HPS and fans with 4 24"floro lights for seed and veg.When I get the veg cab and the closet running at the same time very soon I will let you know how much it costs me to run both at the same time.Peace

I live in calif and changed all the lighting in the house to cfl's. I am running a 400 watt hps for flowering running 12/12 and 6 4' floro tubes and 1 65 watt cfl 6500k running 18/6
by reducing the other wattages my bill dropped by 12.00 a month last bill was $65.00

i run 1 400 watt hps 12/12 for flowering 12 plants no topping trying sog . i also run 2 60 watt sprial clf's for vegging about 12 plants and clones . i run a fan 24/7 and a ozone generator 15 min. on and 15 min. off about 12 hours a day for odor control . i live in central america and my power bill before growing was 10.00 usd a month now my electric bill is 50.00 usd a month .an increase of 40.00 usd a month . not sure what my yield will be on the plants , but with 12 females i am hoping for the best.........

if you dont mind me asking ??? what kind of return do you get for 270.00 ??? is that your monthly electric cost....please post some pics .... i wanna see the difference from a newbie to you the professional.......youre my hero !!!!

I know this may seem real obvious to some, but my grow shop i'm sure doesnt sell cfl's.... these are just for veg I've gathered... but what I really wanted to know is do they use less electricity than regular bulbs/ballasts(?) and consequently lower your bill?.

Thanks for your help, like I said - new to the game!

My electric went down.
I am using cfl's for grow and a few fans.
I also have a few 15w fluro's.
I keep the ac on 65 in my 2 bdrm apt.

I started turning lights off when leaving rooms.
I also started turning off tv's and things that I am not using at the time.

I figured the bill would go up atleast 5.00 but, it has went down since I started conserving at the same time.

Once I get better lights I will replace all the other lights in apt with cfl's to help offset the bill.

Both generators run on LP and my consumption is between $900-1500 a month. The high end comes in winter here where my LP is also running the furnace for heat and co2 generation is pretty much continuous.

All electric house. Use every trick in the book to keep costs down. Run a T5 for veg and 600 watt in the flower room. All the usually extras (fans, etc.). Our highest bill last winter was $73.24 (we do have a wood burning stove).

The house would have a realtors total of 3600 sq ft., but even after much demolition and rebuilding, only around 2000 of the floor space is actual garden(incuding the 10 flowering rooms and 2 veg rooms). I go with 10+2 because I am utilizing both levels of the property and I am not too keen on moving plants up and down stairs. The walk-in doors at grade level in the basement(and an atv) are keen for this type of set up. I utilize three phase power from my my gensets at 120/208v. I have been in the electrical feild as a professional all of my life and three phase is the only way to go for any large scale setup. I am an official generator dealer for a major company which makes it easy to pull out the 125kw during mild weather(twice a year here) using a forklift and trailer and have it gone though by their factory techs and have it back in place before the 75kw can't handle the load anymore. LP is easy to buy in cold, rural areas in 100lb(heavy, but portable) tanks and they are happy to refill them at many places(even gas stations) year round without batting an eye. I go through quite a few , so I spread my fuel out over a large area to avoid any possible suspision. Both of the gensets are housed in steel(pole) buildings away from, and down the hill from, the house. The distance and location keeps it quiter in the house.
Being very far from your neighbors is a must if you want to generate your own power! Low profile is easy: rusty older truck, small fuel tanks with many distributors paid in cash, eletrical shop for ballasts(digital hps/mh), bulbs, controls wiring for CO2, lights ph etc... , hvac, construction materials with no suspision, well water means no chlorine and no water bills and monitering, self sustained electricity means no pesky electric companies, and rural loaction means no heat copters, but this comes at a price. $20,000+ for genset alone, and owning a house that nobody will ever see but me and my wife...

ithe formular should be light wattage divided by 1000 times your KWH cost = how many cent per hour its turned on.

e.g 400w light at 8.2 cents per KWH = 400 / 1000 x 8.2 = 3.28 cents per hour its turned on

wow !!!!! since you are still working could we all say " bless your wife " and of course you !!!!!!! thats a lot of lp to be token around ....thats just alot of work period i could not even imagine how much fruit that 2000 sq ft would bare ............ you and your wife are really my heros and some day i wanna be just like you !!!!!!!!! really 46 male costa rica
