I manicure it right after I cut it down so it is still crisp and easy to cut,I think it is a lot harder when you dry it first because the leaves are wilting and hard to cut
on top of this, you can only take the top halves of the plants if you have a lot, they are generally bigger and need the extra day to dry anyways, then you can leave the bottom parts until you have time, waiting up to even 7 days as the lower buds always ripen later.

Middle to high humidity, were surrounded by the great lakes.
Oh okay. Ya here in denver it's low humidity. Right now it is 33% humidity here. It can be tough sometimes when drying here depending where you are drying. I have trimmed wet and couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the smell right no matter how I cured. It dried too fast. Inside and outside of my house. I hung a branch whole without taking any of the leaves and forgot about it for a month. The buds on that branch smelled way better and smoked way better than the stuff I wet trimmed and hung. Funny thing was the wet trim I gave to a guy then gave him some nugs off the branch I forgot about. He later said the second shit I have him was better and stronger not knowing both bags came from the exact same plant. One was just trimmed wet and one trimmed super dry. Crazy.

Who gave Missxxx sugar again?!? Lol. So the reason I choose to leave the leaves on is because of the climate where I live which happens to be Denver. But if you live in a humid climate like in the south you can trim wet. In some climates people have to take all the buds of the stems even and place them in drying baskets with dehumidifiers running. So if you or anyone reading this for that matter, has a plant drying with huge colas you might risk mold waiting to trim dry if you live in a humid climate.

i always trim wet
mainly i figure likely less loss of trichs that way, as they're not dry and brittle.

baffled most are saying trim dry for better taste though.. my experience is the opposite. i found it tastes less shwaggy trimmed wet. don't know why, i mean the leaves are gone and end product looks good, should be no difference. but trimmed try, just tasted more schwaggy. (the same pot, we got lazy)

Dry trim, it makes a difference when you can stretch out the dry time. Buds dry faster when you manicure wet.

Wanna know what I have been doing the last few years? I keep all my trim and stems and put it in a bag or Tupperware to dry then put it in the freezer till I'm ready to use it. Then I go to the grocery store and but a pound or more of dry ice. Next I get a mason jar and fill it with trim and chunks of dry ice. I put a nylon over the top and put the lid part that screws on over the nylon. The nylon I make semi tight. If it's too tight you will get plant matter through. It's not that big of a deal though. After you have to jar put together you turn it upside down and shake it over a clean flat surface. A lot comes out at first. It will be a goldish color. As the green matter breaks down it gets smaller so when the powder or keif I should say starts getting a light green dump it and start over with new trim. I get a lot. It's okay to smoke but I use some of the nugs to make oil. Then I put the oil on the nugs then add the keif. Caviar. I use that for some fun head smoke to share with friends.

hehehehe I just learned exactly that not long ago - coz I had trim still left from last season so I was getting jars of ice water and shaking them with trim inside then pouring through coffeestrainers! YUM! ... but with My New Silk-Screen I just dumped the trim (it was really really GOOD trim) on top and pushed it back and forth a few times ... phew ... much easier... and then I put the keif in cellophane and wrapped it up tight and then wrapped that with newspaper .. placed it in boiling water for 20 minutes ... took it out ... rolled with rolling-pin!... voilá some HASH! mmmm smells sooooooooo GOOD! And still got trim for GanjaButter! I love GanjaButter! MMMmmmm I just place 2 cups Olive Oil and 1 cup Water and as much trim as fits... simmer that stuff up for about an hour... and then strain it off (and freeze so it separates) and WOW! ... so yummy! Perfect for edibles! I love the Smell and the Taste! To me it literally smells like heaven! ... Perfect Moisturizer! and Frozen it tastes so good I just bite chunks off and scoff them down and then get really sleeeeeeepy! LOL hehe So yeah! Can't wait for Harvest time baby!!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I get BUD! I get HASH! ... AND GanjaButter!!! Its an all round feast of goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xxmissxx (oh and I make BHO too got all the equip. etc....)

With the trim and ice water don't do that it's a waste. If you are gonna do something like that use ISO. But even then there is more to it than just that and that's another story. I hate making canna butter. It smells my house up terrible and also tastes terrible. That's a personal thing so you might like it and that's okay. Edibles are cool but they aren't for me. I talked to a chick that works in the ER here (Denver) and I asked her if she ever gets people who think they are ODing on weed. She said only with edibles. A couple times a week people ate too much and freak out and get panic attacks. For me it's uncomfortable and lasts too long. I'll pass on edibles.

Something I came across one year was I trimmed wet and dry. Half and half same plants. What I noticed that year was the buds trimmed wet were more dense where the dry were more airy and light. I know a pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of bricks but as far as bag appeal goes the ones trimmed wet looked better but the dry smoked tasted and all around were better.

Survey: Do you manicure before or after you start drying?

Always..Always trim once you have butchered, only the rank noobs would ever consider trimming once limpus dickus, then try trimming 300 plants with a trim pro ...not a chance
1: butcher your plant first thing in the morn whilst all the sugars are in the rootzone
2: hang the plant upside down, snipping the lower colas first
3: then the sides
4: then the center
the advantages are too many, but its obvious thats the sugars and starch make life a lot easier
Only last year many of my buddies didn't like the new trimming method and prefer that the water leaves are left on? ,...so I'm doing that this years too...with amazing results
this suggests that the current craze of making nugs look like plums is bull ..something of a surprise to me !!!
butcher, hang , trim, should you then go for a 2nd trim its a "manicure" ...lol
