supplemental Lighting UV-A/B and IR?

What kind of supplemental lighting is recommended when running 3000K COBs?

I am looking into some UVA LEDs and some IR (450nm) LEDs
It looks like UVB LEDs are pricey or nonexistent?

How much wattage should I be looking into adding to my grow?

5-10% of my total output?

THanks!

IR is 700 and up
450 nM is borderline UV

if you want more "IR" (at least the 700-750 portion that is useful to plants), use 90 cri cobs

if you want more 450 use 4000k cobs

if you want real uv use a mercury vapor source with light phosphor like an agromax t8/t5 or a reptisun t8/cfl

are there any stand alone chips for IR or UV that are recommended and tested?
I had my frequencies messed up , thanks for clearing that up!

Using Vero29 3000K 80cri cobs
I am contemplating adding some small LED blues (450nm)
Also thinking of UV and IR LED's

Any recommendations on LEDs in these spectrums?
I am thinking like under 10W LEDs

Yes there are standalone UV and IR chips. UVB chips are going to be super expensive. Far red / IR single chips @ 730nm and UVA single chips can be found at shops like rapidled or Steve's leds.

Good luck and don't let anyone discourage you from doing something you are interested in.

I use the IR at about 1w/sf with a 3w diode. I run 12-3wIR diodes. I also run some other colors, like deep red, far red and royal blue and use a SE250-48v to run the diodes and you can use a controller to dim and turn on/off connected to an LDD4 driver board.

In regards to how much ultra violet light... 1. Our solar system's sun produce UV perpetually. 2. UV C is filtered out by the Earth's atmosphere while some UV B goes past the atmosphere.

If you want to replicate some outdoor conditions within your indoor grow space. Just add UV B and or UV A to your grow space as supplementary lighting for as long as the main light source is on or for as long as you wish.

Generally speaking... Plants need UV for it to express it's fullest genetic potential.

Has anyone tried using the UVB with the pairing of 660nm-680nm and 700nm 15 minutes to 30 minutes before lights off then right at lights off switch to the 730nm-740nm for 15 minutes to 30 minutes after lights off for boosting the emmerson effect?

The evidence shows that the will speed up your flower time, but if you use the uvb with the far red and IR it stimulates the switch from night to day. some growers are using this to get a longer flower time like 14/10 but i think it could increase potency and yeild if used along with current growing methods. im building lights to try it out myself but i wanted to know if anyone else had tried the far red with your UV bulbs.

I run uvb and it's in the middle of the day not at lights on or off.

I'm no expert, but like to try things and see how they work for myself. The mono's on the lights with the coloured diodes are claimed to be 380-390nm, 410-420nm, 440-450nm, 620-630nm & 640-660nm, at varying ratio's(depending on how many of them I blew and the UV & violet one's were the most sensitive and easiest to blow, so less UV).

The little bar in the middle is 60w of IR (740-745nm) and is coming on for 10 mins at lights out.

The diodes are definitley giving off some UV, but how effective it is, is anyones guess and I am considering adding something to give a few 15min blasts of UVB at the middle of the day.

Do they do what they're intended to do? I honestly don't know yet and haven't got the time or space to do any testing, so I'm just winging it. The plants don't seem to be complaining though.
