Supplemental light account for total par

I’ve been playing around with my new 626 par meter need to learn how to save the graphs and other info. But so far for me to get between 770-850 at 450watts I need to be almost exactly 12 inches away.. My 5 strips run at 60 watts give 120pmol at that same distance. Which together bring reading to 920-950. Should I aim for the total par number between the supps and boards or where the board get 800-850 and the supp pm intensity doesn’t matter6FFC423C-94C8-4580-A433-5812696CB0B4.jpeg39729B30-4D4B-47EB-A3D0-F660CC83B85F.jpeg

@budman410 I stuck up some strips to light 2 plants at the side to see how they'll do. I turn the plants every couple of days to get the light all around.
I use around 850 - 900 umols at the top of the plants and they also get a max of 600 umols from the side.
I'm not sure if thats sufficient light or overkill but so far so good. The side lights really light the sides up compared to just using overhead lights.
I'll know better in a couple of weeks when I chop them as I've another 3 plants in the back of grow iI can compare them to.

I didn’t realize how much light drop off on the side, I would assume there would be a noticeable difference adding that side lighting, make a thread or let me know how it goes. I was planning on using my left over boards for side lighting my flowering moms. I guess I’ll have to experiment some considering most people don’t have a par meter that can measure 660-730.. is the supplemental lighting apart of the total par target or just adding to that 850-900 range..that’s my target range

That's 850 on top plus 600 at side.
If you have a par meter did you measure at what point the lights meet I would think that would be the high point. At the end of my lights some areas drop by 300-600 so adding 600 seems like it would give you good light around the whole plant
