One thing I've been thinking lately is, are we all being sucked in by the nutrient companies.

All my tomatoes, verges and little mini orchard I have all produce great fruit without any special care and over thinking.

My next run of clones. I'm going to use a good local soil with a balanced npk balance, preferable one with slightly more k. Start in a little pot and just keep potting up.

Been looking at that Mandela seeds company info. Some real good stuff on growing in soil there.

I just don't think I need to be spending $100's per grow.

Either way it will be a good test. As a pre test, I'm looking to pot up the clones I have running into 18ltr pots with some hot soil an just run water.

Anyway this is a link to whats really got me thinking.

Yeah there was a guy i was watching on here was just using some stuff from the hardware store

Yates Thrive Soluble All Purpose Plant Food- for veg
Yates Thrive Flower And Fruit Soluable Fertiliser - flower

And was having amazing results and that stuff is as cheap as chips it's just hard as i don't like change they say if it ain't broken don't fix it so i just stick with what works but i am sure it's all marketing i swear by rhizotonic but then again i am sure some cheaper Sea weed Fertilizer would do the same thing as it smells and looks the same to me

Yeah I've been checking out a few and got talking to a nice Maori lady down the bunnings. She sore by one of local brands. Tui pot power.

Then they pretty much have all the same nutrients for sale, just a third of the price and named differently.

In coca / hydro you always need nutes anyway, so they def have their place.

Yeah they do have a product called bud burst. Can't say I noticed any difference over any of those other bud additives. I'm using one called liquid lead at the moment.
I reakon it's all bout temps with bud tightness ect I use canna pk norm now using both

I'm also using a product called shooting powder from house and garden. I can honestly say I've seen no difference using it.

Hence why I'm going to take it right back to basics and utilise the nutes in the soils we buy. Realistically they should only need one or two hits of nutes if they show deficiencies.

Without a doubt, I think temps / humidity levels are very important.

I use the canna pk as well. I'll still use that in my future experiment, as it's been proven that extra hit of pk can help.

Update time. I cut the bitches down. I'm quite disappointed with yield. But have figured out why. 10l of soil isn't enough. They were root bound hard.

I've taken my ones in veg and have repotted into 18.5l pots and flipped. There now at day 4 from 12/12.

Unfortunately my toddler deleted my end photos, along with a whole lot of other shit. God I still love my kids, even though they can drive me nuts.

Anyway. Photo below of repotted plants.

I'm going to start a new thread when I take clones. Going to take it back to the kiss method hard.

The girls are loving their new bigger pots. I haven't feed them any nutes as there is heaps in the soil.

Im going to start a new journal soon. As I'm going to do a KISS style grow approach and see what happens when I try to leave the nutes out of it, unless of course yet show signs of deficiency.

Ok so it been a while.

Here's the girls at day 22 into 12/12. Until today I have feed them nothing but ph'd water (any where from 6.2-6.8) as they got 10l extra of soil when they went into their bigger pots, so there is plenty of nutes in there already.

Today however I gave them water but just added a 1/3 strength hit of pk 13/14. I'll go back to water next and give another hit of it In a week.

They seem to be going really well.

Also. Clones away. I haven't feed them anything but water. You can see the last couple that only have just rooted and are small lol.

After this run of clones. I'm dropping back to 4 plants per tent. Just not worth getting caught here at the moment, as I only grow for personal and if I got caught with 16, it could really fuck my shit up
