Super short bushes

Ok so i just started my first grow. Basically everythings going real smoothe but just one question: my seedlings are looking very healthy but they are super short. I mean 6-8 inches average and growing their 4th and 5th and one even 6th sets of leaves. Im seeing more leaf developeement at the nodes of those branches too.. They look very healthy but im just wondering will they start to stretch a lil and get taller? Or should i move the lights up a bit to make them stretch? Or is this just fine? The leaves are staying very healthy and growing quite large and rapidly. Also the lights are about 7 inches from the tops theyre just a couple sun blaze 44s with the blue spectrum bulbs.. My room stays at about 85 degrees F but im going to be implementing a plan tomorrow to get it down to 70-75 with certain success. All these factors in mind, what are your opinions?

why do you want them to stretch? they will stretch naturally when you induce flowering. artificially forcing stretch in veg by moving the lights away is only going to make your healthy plants weak and spindly and is not going to increase yields. as long as you have abundant healthy foliage you are doing fine. from what you describe about the grow everything sounds like it's going very well. if anything you could probably move the lights closer.

Well like i said its my first grow. I didnt really think there was a problem but i wanted to make absolutely positive. And i do know its not good to stretch the plant but i didnt know if they should be a little more lengthy naturally. But thanks a lot for the response and reassurance.. And ill lower the lights as low as possible maybe a couple inches will be safe enough so its not too hot for the ladies.

You want them bushy man, short and bushy is the way to go, you dont want them strecting ...sounds like you have some healthy lil ladies....Try to keep your temp around 78 during light hours, between 75 to 80 seems perfect....yeah, 7 inches seems a little far for floro, you can put them about an inch or so from your tops with no problem....good luck...

^Exactly, they are growing the way they are supposed to. If you want to speed things up further, add even more light(assuming everything else is okay). I think you'll be quite happy with your strong, stocky, plants, when you switch to 12/12, and they don't stretch outta the atmosphere.lol Also, you won't have much trouble with flimsy branches, and having to tie them all up, when the buds start forming. That's a common problem,(more of a pain in the ass.lol) with stretchy plants.

Yea i didnt want them to stretch, just kinda thought possibly theyre too short. But definately look super healthy and pretty. Im going to be giving them their first feeding at 1/4 strength with roots organics line of nutes.
