Super Plant Tonic...what it is and what it is not...

My poor little girls have had 2 doses of SPT at full strength following a nute burn and a flush. a burst of new growth today with thicker white pistils! The stuff smells like it would not take much to mess up your intestinal tract, so I treat like toxic waste, wash hands!!! It pours out kinda slimmy and sure stinks, but it looks like plants love it. Can't wait to see how it works without fing up the plants first!
.
Hayduke.... Plants do love the stuff, but I agree it stinks like Hell. It's performance is like the difference between dining at McDonald's and eating at the White House.
.
McDonald's offers nutrient empty food, but lot's of calories - kind of like allot of these high dollar bottled nutes. NPK only dining.
.
Super Plant Tonic, provides fine dining for Mary - every trace mineral covered in correct proportions, highly soluble NPK for a nice expresso shot of growth, mcyo fungi to serve course after course of followup NPK meals to Mary (much like a seven course meal - at the White House), plus root defense as good as the Secret Service.
.
It's the only thing from a bottle, I don't grow without.
.
Keep it Real...Organic.... & I too frequently wash my hands after using it - cause anything that potent scares me just a little... LOL .....

ohsogreen, I just recevied my SPT, Foliar Spray, Grow it green and BMO bloom. Do you have to use them seperate or can they be mixed together? for instance, can you mix the foliar spray with the SPT and use as one? or do they have to be used seperatly? Thanks!

I wouln't mix foliar spar with anything.... I use SPT every other watering, opposite of feeding nutes.

Meluvyoulongtime.... The first time you use the SPT, use it by itself. This gives the micro-beasties a chance to establish themselves.
.
I suggest the following: water weekly, fertilize every two weeks. On the watering only week (use the SPT - mixed at full strength), on the feeding week don't use it or use it at a lower strength.
.
Now it is true, you can mix SPT with your nutes with no loss in performance - but you risk nute (overload / burn) if you use the SPT at full strength & your nutes at full strength.
.
The reason being, the micro-beasties are very efficent at breaking down NPK & funneling it straight into Mary's roots. So, you need to either skip the SPT every other week, or weaken your fertilizer doses to compensate, if using the SPT weekly. It's one of those, 6 or half dozen kinda things......
.
Hope this helps...

is superthrive a plant tonic?
.
Farmer#1..... Superthrive is kinda like mystery meat... It lies in a gray area... It contains trace minerals, B vitamins & growth inducing hormones - I hear from an animal source. Possibly the nads of a bull, but I am unable to verify. The makers won't give up the ingredients list and that always makes me a bit uneasy.
.
Now, does the stuff work. Yes, it does - but I feel it's too concentrated. Overuse, happens way too easy, and that causes strange things to happen.
.
I once, accidentally double dosed a Lowryder 2 (which is a true dwarf MJ Plant). It did not auto-flower and grew almost 6 feet tall. It was the only plant, I treated with the stuff and I did not like the end result. All it's sisters / brothers autoflowered right on time and stayed short (under 18 inches). I named that plant "Mutant-X". I seeded it, just in case, by accident I produced some Chronic Mutant Strain - only time will tell. But, in the meanwhile - my bottle of the stuff sits covered in dust, in the garage.
.
Just my 2 cents worth.....
.
Keep it Real...Organic..... or risk Mutation......

I agree thanks for all the info they should be paying you. Im using age old organics grow and bloom formula, bio-genesis synergy, FF big bloom (mistake I've been hearing) and superthrive. I'm going to order a bottle of SPT asap. My plants seem to be doing very good, any other suggestions or recommendations? Also what do you recommend for a good organic scent/flavor enhancer. Currently on some good bagseed but have some White Rhino and Power skunk babies about 3 1/2 weeks old almost ready to sex.

Hello again everyone..... I just thought I should start a new thread to discuss what Super Plant Tonic is and what it is not.

.
First of all - it's a root inoculant, meant to deliver mycorrizhal fungi and other benefical bacteria to your root zone.
.
Second, it is a Tonic with loads of macro & micro nutes - often missing from most fertilizers. So, that's good - lots of good stuff in one bottle.
.
Third, it delivers these things in a highly soluble form, so results are quick. It works within days.
.
Those are all a plus in my book. I've been using the stuff now for several grows & I love it. I love that fact, it's made by a small company in small batches and most importantly - It's ALL ORGANIC....
.
Now - what SPT is not. It's not a fertilizer. The NPK in it is just there to feed the micro-beaties (aka-the good fungi & bacteria). The NPK numbers are too low to carry Mary in any part of the grow.
.
It's not a cure all for common mistakes - Overwatering & Overfertilizing. If you're doing those - nothing will help you. Mary's going to suffer.
.
It does not right all wrongs. Example: If your leaves are already showing Mg deficency. It will stop it, but not reverse the damage to your leaves that is already done. Nothing can do that, shy of the man upstairs.
.
Here is a list of it's ingredients - I just copied & pasted them:

Now, most people "do not want to tell", you their ingredients. Blue Mountain Organics wants you to know them and why they are used :

The Artesian Spring Water (provides an all natural, chlorine free base), Worm Castings (add soluable nitrogen & trace minerals), Mycorrhizal Fungi make the mix soluble & inoculate your plants roots, Unsulphured Molasses (feeds - these beneficial microorganisms, provides trace minerals, plus soluble nitrogen, phosphorus & potassium), Coral Calcium (adds 72 trace minerals - that's all of them), Humic Acid derived from (Hot Composted) Oak Leaves & Peat - adds natural chelates (ensuring smooth delivery of the trace minerals). All these good things are mixed, then oxygenated for (3) days under optimal conditions; in a special organic tea brewer. Which increases the feeding action of the beneficial microorganisms - which break down all these good things, into a highly soluble liquid. Easily absorbed by plants. Note: Mycorrhizal Fungi enhance your plants ability to absorb more nutrients, minerals & water - resulting in better vigor, growth & draught resistance. Just Google or Yahoo Search Mycorrhizal Fungi - You'll find page after page of information praising them.

So, there you have it. A company honest enough to tell you what's in it. A well thought out list of goodies. Mixed in proper ratios to balance out most problems. It is a good addition to any grow - It's not a Miracle in a Bottle.
.
If you have used it, chime in. Tell others if you like it, how you used it ...etc.. or if it's not your cup of tea...share also... Open discussion, makes for better threads.....
.
Keep it Real.... Organic....

Im using the SPT and the BMO Nutes in my current grow I couldnt be happier
.
ISmokePotBecauseItsCool..... I finished my second full run of Lowryder 2's using just the BMO ferts - with SPT of course. I too could not be happier. It's good quality stuff and just in my price range - Cheap..... :)
.
I still like mixing my own organic teas, but when I'm feeling a little lazy....this stuff works for me & well.....
