Super Lemon Haze

Night humidity is getting to high to control with exhaust fans. I broke down and bought a 35 pint dehumidifier. I'll run the drain hose though the wall this weekend. It will increase the temps but I think it will be manageable. I'll keep humidity around 45-50 %.

Plants seem to be taking to the new room. I did mount the screen to low so I'll probably have to accept a little stretch this time. But considering I have never nor was I planning to do a scrog, I can live with it. It just seems like the best approach to take with this set up.

They are growing pretty good. I've been controlling the stretch but I'm leaving in the morning for 3 days so this is probably the last time. The stemware starting to get a little stiff. Humidity is good bouncing between 40 - 50%, temps are better since I stopped using the light fan. 84 during day 73 at night.

The screen is starting to fill up but I'll have a gap or two.

The flowers are starting to come in. Day 11 This isn't the best one just the easiest to snap a pic of.

This stuff makes me itch after handling it. I've had some itchy stuff before but man o man Super Lemon Haze is extra itchy. I've already picked a keeper. It's the only one that clones worth a damn. Sure it's partly my fault because I'm out of practice but I took two sets of clones and the only ones to make it the first time were from the same plant. This time it's looking like more of the same. It's the fastest grower and the healthiest of the three. Hopefully it's got the best smoke but only time will tell.

I picked up a new tray for my veg room. Stopped by my local shop and couldn't pass it up.

There about 20 days in, they are to stiff to bend anymore. I've had some problems that I couldn't figure out. Different leaves were showing different symptoms. Finally figured out my salts got to high while I was away and my ph was off. Changed my res, bought some Cal Mag and some beneficial bacteria. Things are looking better.

Man this stuff makes me itch after handling it. They have a lot of bud sites, no clue how much they yield but it's looking like I won't be disappointed. I figure I need about 2 1/2 ounces to make it from harvest to harvest anything over that will be a nice bonus.

Nice..Good Job! You are doing exactly what I plan to be doing lol. Nice....flood and drain with a SCROG....SWEET!!!!

Question...how many plants are you flowering and whats your estimate on yield?

Thanks, got 3 plants flowering. Seeing as this is my first grow in a few years using a new system I'm not expecting a lot. I should be able to pull at least a 1/4 gram per watt but I'd be surprised if I can get over 1/2 gram per watt, anywhere between 3 1/2 and 7 ounces.

28 days in and things are starting to look and smell good. I changed nutes today from General Hydro to Botanicare Kind. It phed at 5.7 after mixing, gotta love that. Also pours out of the bottle easier, guess I'll have to wait before I know about their quality.

I've been trimming like crazy to increase air flow. Some of the fan leaves are getting choked out anyway.

Screen filled in pretty good. I figure they'll start bulking up from here on out.

image.jpeg
There are buds everywhere, won't be the big ass colas I can get from LST only but I don't think I'll be disappointed. Shit still makes me itch like crazy.

tgey are just starting to fill in, by day 55 they should be looking pretty tasty. I'm hoping they finish before the 63 day mark.If I remember correctly CO2 helps them finish a little faster. Next week I'll build my iPhone microscope and start posting some shits of the trichomes

Well I just realized I've got a project coming up on the 11th that is going to eat up all my time. Right in my harvest window. So I'm starting my flush and plan to harvest next Friday. They are getting close.

image.jpeg

I've definitely learned a few things. Next run I'm going to stop the tuck around 16 days instead of a full 21. I've got a lot of nugs at screen level and I think it's because I tucked to long.

My CO2 was off by a bit so I don't think I benefited all that much from it this grow. Next fro I hope to see fatter buds. Here's my pax 2 next to about the biggest cola.

Still working on a good photo microscope

Happy New Year.

I started the flush yesterday. I also took a sample to start the new year. Buzz is good, but it tastes and smells like fresh cut bud. Hahaha

Here's a pic of the buds on the screen.image.jpeg

Buds everywhere

And a couple of close ups to start the new year

Hey Brad, when do you think I should start with my nutes?
I'd start using nutes when the first leaves come in. Not the sprout leaf but actual plant leaf. Once they start mix your nutes about 1/4 strength or what ever your nute manufacturer suggest. It may seem like a long time now but in about 4 months it'll be worth it.

I got it in my head yesterday and couldn't get it out so I chopped them. Gives me plenty of time to do everything I need to do before I have almost no time for a month.

Pic right before cut

I forgot to take any pics of the cut and trim. Here's a shot of them in my newly built drying cabinet.

The itch from handling had reduced quite a bit in the last few weeks of flower. But cutting them down drove me crazy. Long sleeves next time.
image.jpeg

I flushed my system then ran bleach through it for 4 hours. Circulating fresh water for an hour then Clearx till morning.

I'll be throwing the clones into flower tomorrow. They are 18" and ready to go.
image.jpeg

I have 3 different phenotypes. One is way to hard to clone so it's out. The other two are similar in bud structure but A grows faster although B has more trichomes. I'm gonna run the clones before picking my mother.

I ended up with 3 different phenotypes. A grew the fastest, biggest plant and buds. It clones the easiest but has the least amount of trichomes. The buds are more least sativa looking.

image.jpeg

B grew a little slower and was smaller overall. It has more trichomes than A and a little more sativa looking buds.
image.jpeg

C was has great sativa looking buds, a lot of trichomes but the smallest plant and lowest yield. It is also very hard to clone.
image.jpeg
A is by far the hardiest phenotype. My nose has been stopped up for a week so I can't get past the hay smell yet. Haven't bothered weighing it yet.

I am going to run one more cycle before picking between A and B. C is just to hard to clone.

Had the room cleaned and running in 48 hours.
image.jpeg

This time I planted them toward the outside so they can grow toward the center.

Looks good man, you have an awesome setup. I have SLH right now too and it looks like we started flower on the same exact day. I'm currently 53 days into flower. Mine still look and smell extremely ripe. I plan on flowering for another week at the least. Strain info says 9-10 week flower time for SLH... which is 63-70 day time frame. Curious how you buds turned out since you harvest a couple week early? Also for a good microscope (runs off a USB so i use my computer)... search for "super eyes" microscope.

So far so good. I hate to talk about quality just yet since all I've smoked is the quick dry and the final is always a little better. Buzz last about 2 1/2 hours. I wish I could have waited but overall the best move was an early harvest.

I'll have to check the microscope out. I plan on building one for my smartphone, I have everything but the laser pointer. Plus I like to tinker.
