yeah there loving the hps man, i purchased a 10 piece party light kit the other day at trash and treasure for only $15 so i can add 10 25w cfl bulbs to this kit, it's real easy to position these lights around too, so i'll be adding that kit in once we see some buds :D

lol i was looking at the same thing in bunnings i think they were 20 globe holders though i think they were round 20 to 30 bucks plus globes was thinking of doin the exact same thing as my canopy is so thick on mine

There is a guy on eBay called "Tranquil Garden" who sells all sorts of useful shit, 3 sizes of Jiffy Pellets, 3 or 4 sizes of Jiffy Pots and just about every size pot you could want.

Check out the ebay store ... LINK
May i ask out of curiousity why you use jiffy pellets for cloning ??? the old grodan rockwool cubes work perfect for cloning or from seed, just use 1 extra cube and bung a thermometer in it......moisture and warmth is all thats required. dump your cube in ph'ed water, once it sinks, pick up, do one fling to release extra water, then drop your seed or clone it, put in humidity tray and wait. Why do you prefer jiffy pellets ????

Simple answer, they work, and I don't have any rockwool cubes ... so it is not a case of "prefer" it is a case of using what I have and using what I know works, and works every time (well at least for the last 30 years that I have used them).
It took 8 days for roots to develop on my "tiny" clones and in that 8 days the roots grew through the side of the Jiffy pellet - 8 cuttings = 8 rooted clones ... no matter how good rockwool is, it can't be better than 100% effective :-)
The pellets are made of peat and hold water very well - I didn't add any water after inserting the cuttings - just popped them in the humid dome covered tray and left them alone.

I was going to use rockwool cubes for cloning this time around but i left it too late, didn't have time to order, i had these jiffy pellets lying around so i just used those
I haven't cloned alot, but jiffy pellets or rockwool cubes doesn't matter aslong as your getting them to root, if it ain't broke then don't fix it ;)
im guessing your already in your new house godlike got anything setup yet :D

Cool guys, was just curious as to the methods others use as i swear by rockwool cubes....lol.....at the end of the day, as long as the result is the same, rooted clones or sprouted seeds than all good, next time round for the simple experiment i will try jiffy pellets......thank you

Masterhemp, looking good too mate, these will turn out very very nice.....

Today the clones have showed me there roots 10 days after cutting, they were poking out the sides of the jiffy pellet, time to pot them :)

you will have more problems with growwool cloning blocks than jiffy pots imo plus growwool is REALLY suss mate heaps of everyday gardeners use jiify pots.

Thats because they already grew them and are trying other strains.I still have a couple beans of white widow left.I plant those when im done searching for other strains. There are so many i try not to stay stuck on one.

Nothing suss about them at all, i use them and have had no issues thus why i stick with them, drop your cutting or seed, put in humidity crib and away they go......i was simply asking why some others prefer jiffy pellets as opposed to rockwool cubes....

MasterHemp, i got some seeds for you man, hit me up....

It's all good man everyones welcome to talk freely in this journal :P
I'll try an get some pictures up tonight, i looked at them this morning and spotted 1 male from the 2 regular white widows, i was really hoping for 2 females :(
the other one is looking to be a female but glad i caught this male in time, i killed it right away i don't want any pollen around that's for sure, i had to cut out the netting from the screen and remove the plants to get to the male, which fucking sucks cause the screen was pretty much filled, but it's ok because i have another strain to put in there "ice kush" which i got from a good friend here, which kind of works out the slh & ww flower for 11 weeks whereas the ice kush is supposed to flower for 8 weeks
