Super Cropper thoughts?

the pricing on these things are ridiculous!
they seem easy enough to build.. Have any of you built something like these?
http://supercroppers.com/
Says it fits in a 4x4 area... im thinking that's too close for 72 plants!
Im thinking of building one like the super cropper 72 and growing SoG.

Any input or reviews of this product?

Ive been down that road. First you make one, then you fix the problems with it, then the other problems, then replace some parts, then throw it in the trash and buy the real super cropper(or aeroflo in my case). Seriously you'd probably save money in the long run if you just buy it. They are really cool

build away......let's see it. they look like vinyl fence posts from Home Depot

Yeah it is.. i ve build the stinkbud's rail system its kind of like this..its working pretty good!

I just noticed with this system is the plants are very tightly together. maybe a SoG with NO veg time would work. Just put clones straight into 12/12

Should add that there 5" post. I wanted 15 spots to fit under a 2x4 light. But you can easily add more and make it bigger. If you want. Later I can give you a list of stuff you will need. This is a flood and drain style but and be made aero for a smaller res. I use 4 gallons for each 4 foot tube like this.

Thanks for the replies!

So back to the concern... 72 plants.... 4x4 area... No veg time.. just straight into 12/12 from clone... is it doable??

I was wondering about that. Asked you about it in another thread. I have one with 4 x 4-3/4" x 90"long posts set up with low pressure aero. Grew from clones. It can be converted to flood and drain by removing the spacer under one end and installing the risers on the flood and drain fittings. This was my first go with it. I have 20 plants in a 4-1/2' x 7' grow area. I'm harvesting right now. Have a 2-1/2 gallon bucket full of trimmed buds and haven't made a dent in it. I think 20 plants was too many. The res holds 18 gallon, not enough, have to top off everyday. Have you tried using aero? If so, which method do you prefer? I didn't know about the stinkbud system when I built it. I have no sprayers, just 3 x 1/16" holes in 1/2 PVC at every site. The 1/2 PVC runs along the upper inside of the square tubes. 2-3/4" net pots w/hydroton. Have it under a screen. The fittings I used for the drains leave about 1/8" of water that doesn't drain. That's why I raised one end. Do you know of any drain fittings that would be flush or below the inside surface? I have 1-3/8 holes for the fitting, but could make up new posts, would go with 5" tubes next time, can't get the right caps for the 4-3/4 tubes anymore.

No I only used it as flood and drain sence that is how my main system is. That is my veg setup. Nft areo drip and RDWC all all ways this style can be used. But as far as water on the bottom? Yes I have 1/2 inch. There is a few ways to stop that but I've not had a problem with it so haven't Tryed anything eles.

It looks like you have pvc tubing for a drain fitting. Is it glued in? What kind of glue did you use?

I think i will build one just like the 72 site super cropper. looks like it will be a tight squeeze.
Ill make a journal to share how the grow goes.

You are right. I did glue 3" pvc pipe to the bottom. I used Christie's Hot Melt glue. It can be found at any siding supply house as it is used to glue the joints on Azak pvc trim board.

Another upgrade would be add union fitting to the spray rails for a better seal. Everything on that rig is just pressure fit except the main manifold. After using it for a while the joints started to leak due to wear caused from cleaning.
