Sunpulse splitter?

Anybody using one? A buddy is setting up his flower room and has roughly 3'x6' and was wanting to figure out the best light setup to cover it. He has 1 1000w but was gonna split it into two 600w as the splitter claims. Do you have to use sunpulse bulbs with this splitter? Ive seen one person say no but
Others say yes? He said he could buy another 1000w but that seemed like over kill to me for the space. Should he just get a 600w? Because the cost of sunpulse bulbs is up there and by the time you pay for those and the splitter you could buy another setup. Thanks for any help

It will work with any bulb but there are definate risks associated with it's use that sunpulse will cover under warranty.
If one bulb fails or even just fails to fire which happens from time to time, the other bulb gets the full 1k and is blown as well. So you can take 2 bulbs out quite easily. I don't know how a 600 watt bulb blows when given 1k but it would be a concern for me as my hoods are open.
