suggestions needed for first time grow!!!!

i have 3 small plants i started from a good stash i had, they are about 3 weeks old and i have been keeping the light on 24 hours a day. now should i do the 18/6 for veg or stay with 24. and if i need to do 18/6 do i do that until flowering stage, i also wanta top my plants to so im waiting for the 4th set of true branches to do that. so what im looking for is a plan of attack please help me and i wanta know were to get the high pressure sodium bulbs, can i buy at menards or something and would that be a red flag for the 5 0.

you can switch to 18/6 without too much stress on the plants. for your next grow, start at 18/6 and stay on 18/6 until flower. everything needs a time to rest and so do your plants. i know you want to speed up the process, but the unnatural-ness of 24/0 doesn't seem to make any significant improvements on bud amount or growth speed.

you can buy hps bulbs online or your local hydroponics store. i don't know what menards is, so i can't help you there. it's not illegal to purchase light equipment but a paper trail can be used against you (read: cultivation with intent to sell) if you ever get caught. buy with cash and don't tell anyone about your shit.

18/6 is definatley a more productive light shedule. i would sa to top them now. as soon as you can the better.

Do you have the balast to run the HPS bulbs with? You cant just stick those in a standard socket, as they wont fit, nor would they be safe. And Menards is where I have bought all my bulbs, just dont purchase ones taped shut, those could be used, and we want brand new. Just be sure to buy the correct type of bulb that goes with your balast, like vertical / horizontal etc.......

There are HPS bulbs up to 250W that work in yer standard socket

I did not know that, You mean up to but not including 250? Have you used these before?

Up to AND including 250W. They are not ideal fer growing, however, if they are all ya have access to, they are far easier to work w/and produce better than CFL's
