Don't use sugar. Use molasses. That is the pure form of sugar. The form your plant can use. Grandma's seems to be the best and purest brand that I have been able to find. And it's avaible in most grocery stores.

i just got back from trader joe's. i got 3 one and a half pound bags of TURBINADO for $8 and some change.
i tried the product called sweet leaf. if left in my watering jug for more than a day it starts to grow on the surface of the water.
i'm sticking with the turbinado.

I use turbinado to cook with because it is has not been filtered or modified, it is just pure evaporated cane juice. It his much better than regular white sugar or brown, and it has not been filtered through bone char.
