Great read!

How important is hauling in soil if youre planting in a really dense forrest? Lets say someone just plants a seed in the existing soil but does everything else required to perfection - how much do his chances of a healthy plant decrease?
Haven't looked at this thread in forever. Thank you all for the kind words!

It's not completely necessary as long as the soil looks very dark and has lots of surrounding foliage growing from it. You CAN just drop seeds, but seedlings die too easily for my liking. Which is why I jump start them indoors for about 2 weeks.

I can't express how helpful this thread is... so much great information. I do, however, have one question: in the link from your first post, it also says, "the best time to plant flowers and vegetables that bear crops above ground is during the light of the Moon; that is, from the day the Moon is new to the day it is full," does that include marijuana? If it does, does it really help? I'm just wondering if you knew. If its worth it, I would love to try it out. I don't think anyone else has asked this question before. Thanks.
I've always done it this way. I mean, the gravitational shit of the moon controls the tides for all of our oceans, so I never chanced it. But you never know! This is an ever expanding hobby open to all sorts of experimenting.

What do we do if we come across a bear or worst, big foot!
Don't even give it a chance to consider that you may be a bitch, charge straight the fuck at it screaming like a lunatic, it'll probably run away. If it doesn't, kill it with your bare hands.

Great helpful thread man.

I grew three gardens of 16 in each last year and things were looking so gorgeous regardless of not tending to them for 18 days. I remember on the day of the last garden harvest I actually walked in another way. I immediately found myself engulfed in THE WORST freakin thorns you could have imagined! I had hundreds of timy infected punctures all over my body. I eventually just bucked up and bit it and pushed forward and I remember snipping two ounce Master Kush branches neatly while dripping blood all over and soaking my shirt. 16 plants in that garden and 15 made it!!!!!!!!!!! I looked at this Garden and said "shit Iv'e got alot of work ahead of me!" I remember saying myself whats the big deal to growin weed? Nothin? drop a seed in the ground and come back and get a free plant in three or four months?? The more I think about it nowadays is that that is absolute BS. It is not easy but it sure is enjoyable difficult if there ever were one.lol Thanks for the thread!
Cheers,
Chase

I used ProMixBX Soil mix with some added worm castings and bat guano. I even added abit more Perlite for some of the holes. Dont know what else to say other than the stuff works miracles at least for me. 30$ for a bale. Anyone have a simple mix for vegging and flowering? I know I could make my own compost organics but I have just been stuck on these mixes that I have working on now.
Thanks,
Chase

Very good guide.

All I will add is when digging holes for an outdoor grow, wide is more important than deep. You can get away with 12-18" deep, but I wouldn't ever go smaller than 32" wide.

You can figure hole size {in gallons} with a little fun and easy math. 3.1415 X radius X radius X depth / 231.

And the outdoors is a big place. Take some clones {or pop some more seeds} and spread those extra plants in other locations. If you have 8 six plant patches and you lose a patch, the pain isn't near as bad as if you have two 24 plant patches and lose one of them.

I use my bushcrafting hobby as an excuse to be in the woods. If I ever feel like I'm being watched, I'll stop, hang a tarp and spark up a fire to brew a cup of coffee. If they were out there, they would be asking themselves, "what kind of dope grower would do something like that?"

I'm coming at it from the other direction. I have to cross my cousin's land to get to where I'm growing. They use the high end game cams that don't have the red light. I stay away from all the shooting houses and food plots, but it still is scary. I put on my turkey mask as soon as I'm in the woods.
