One more thing - I've been through several soil grows using a similar technique - rich, organic topsoil with minimal nutrients. No matter what I do, I always end up with fungus gnats. They never seemed to hurt the plants, but I'm sure they can't help(disease vectors if nothing else).

Do you get gnats? What do you do about them?

Thanks!

Your over watering if you have gnats :)

exactly if your soil more or less dries between waterings gnats are never a problem. cut back waterings and the problem solves itself. besides gnats are the easiest to control and the least destructive of common pests at least in my experience.

just read this whole thread, i was caught off guard once i saw the mix and photo's i knew id seen it before.
The class you just tought was priceless to many!
i will deffinatly be trying your supersoil inside.
would you recomend using this mix to spice up a guerilla grow,
i imagine the same concept of putting it below a layer of regular soil would apply?
thanks

hell ya sub, isaw this thread yesterday and now my plants are in 25 gallon pots with all kinds of super soil.it ain't the same but my honeys were super root bound so i got me some mushroom compost, pelletized lime, worm castings and high phosphous bat guano and watered real good with h2o and general hydroponics micro til it leaked out all over the floor.it's eleagal as hell here so as long as i don't grow more than 4 plants i won't get manufacturing and 18 years.sad but true, but i don't give a fuck.i'm stoked.this thread is the shit.thx subcool i figure i can fix my pot with tea later.i used a 400mh and added a 1000w hps. day 28 with some trees in the making.

Your Plants would be the amazing if all went well, supersoil is like kryptonite outdoors ha, but realisticly you aint gonna hall mad poundage of mixed soil to your gurilla spot, unless is is super small. for my outdoor spot I (which is a 30' x30' square) I take out 5 pounds of feather meal (12-0-0) and spread it and till it in,then I cover the soil with leafs and branches to keep moister and heat in over winter (it snows there), when I come back in the spring, I spread a container of Dry maxicrop seaweed meal and a 50lb bag of greensand, these are for potassium, then I add 5lbs of Seabird gauno and 5 of bat gauno and this is my Phosphorus Then I add azomite for them traces ha and of course the soil is very nitrogen rich, and lastly I add 2 different Dry granulars, first mycro Madness made by Humboldt and second is Advanced nutes Heavy harvest Spring. I till all this together very thoroughly and I water it all with alot of water(I have my own reserve, hehe) and plant a month or less later:bigjoint:

how are you? I am A big fan of all your methods and strains, I have been drooling over Agent Orange eversince I saw it in Hightimes and read about it, but then I had trouble with BreedBay, Probly just gonna order it threw attitude seed bank since they just started carrying you. Anyways I just wanted to say you have inspired me to be a better grower in alot of ways, I hope to be a breeder of your caliber some day, I am working on my first strain currently

sounds good im probably going to give this a try too,(trazzer's method) and with the supersoil im thinking just mixing 1 cup of supersoil to each plants spot(im growing autoflowering seeds so i imagine a little will go a long way with them.)

Hey forgot to add that sometimes you need sweet depending on the PH of ur soil, my works fine without it..

If you are doing an autoflowering strain you will use significantly less soil so you could easily do super soil Id say a 6" whole thats a foot deep would be perfect with about a gallon of supersoil at the bottom per whole. Autoflowering strains are good for a Geurilla spot cus there part rudaralis which is a cannabis species that is very use to rugged conditions and the outdoors, the negative being that they have about haft the THC content then a Photoperiod flowering strain. But Still a great outdoor plant.

That statement was torwards 4oow but that sounds good, sub cool has perfected that mix for years and modified it till it was purfect, if you are gonna do super soil you gotta do it down to the T its just ment that way otherwise you cant just follow a natural water diet cus you may have a difeciency in whatever you left out... ha

Hey, Subcool. Have a couple of questions…

1. I’m kind of confused about the nutrient levels in the soil mix.

Worm Casting 1-0-0
Blood Meal 12-0-0
Steamed Bone Meal 3-15-0
Bat Guano 3-10-1
Rock Phosphate 0-3-0
Does that sound about right?

2. Also is this pretty much how the process goes..

a. Put clone in container (size?) with plan Roots soil

b. Then after it out grows it you transplant into the #10 nursery pots with the super soil on the bottom

c. After vegetating you flower, but after a week or so you put a top dressing of super soil? And through out the whole cycle you use nothing but water?

Thanks mate.

Afetr 4 weeks or at day 30 of budding I top dress some strains
I do not apply liquid fertilizers

Sorry Sub, I know your probably tired of hearing those questions. But I just wanted to double check and I didn't really see any info on the nutrient properties of the soil.

Anyway thanks again though for taking the time to answer all are questions. Very much obliged. Going to school for horticulture and hope to be doing what your doing in a couple of years. Take Care! :Leaf:

I just transplanted my purple kush cloens from 1.5 gallon pots to the 7 gallons about a week ago. They were perfect before, but now there are some leave tips that are starting to definitely go brown on both plants.

does this happen with some strains? what should I do if things keep getting worse?

I followed your tutorial on transplanting to the "t". No direct contact with super soil and I used about 33% super soil in the bottom of my 7.9 gal container with Roots Organics PS.The only thing I didnt follow perfectly was allowing the soil to cook for a full 30 days. It only got 22 days bc I figured transplanting was necessary and given that they are going to veg for another much it shouldnt much matter. Is this a problem?

thanks a ton sub! I have pictures if you want to see them

Hey Subcool I have a question on pot size. See I start my seedlings in a standard cup, when you finish seeding do you transplant to a 1 gallon pot and put in vegetative state or do you transplant straight to 7 gallon pot or larger and veg and flower in one pot? Also If you do use a 1 gallon pot first do I only use potting soil in the 1 gallon pot or a mix of super soil and potting soil? Lastly if I do put my seedlings in a one gallon pot first, how long would I keep it in the 1 gallon pot during the vegetative state before transplanting to bigger pot?

ive read him say before to start out in the 1gallon pots when your seeds germinate, then transfer to 7gal pots when they need transplanting (roughly 3-4 weeks) then he even veg's for another month in the 7gal w/ supersoil
