Can old bulbs cause a plant to get heat stress?

Old lamps and old magnetic ballasts will produce more heat and less light, yes.

Because my ladies r lookin heat stressed but my room is at 77 so the only thing i could come up witu r old bulbs. Because everything else is too as well

Define old bulb please , as some will say 6 months is old others might say a year and anything older then a year is ancient .. I have a preference for bulbs that are slightly worn down when I want to pound light on a plant and keep it as close as possible to the hood and bulb .. I find that once a bulb is broken in and has lost its intial lumens that it can work to ones advantage situation depending of course , but hey I am not a commercial grower and the days of weight chasing are long past me . Although I do pull down one pound plants indoors on a regular basis .

I grow for quality over quantity but with an exception when growing a plant for oil , of course I want quality but I want more quantity as well in order to help others heal with the oils made , these are the plants that I pound with light in order to up the yields , I work hard and pull a few other tricks when growing such and these always weight in at 16-20 ounces due to the extra light and training ..PotSnob
