In the last week, a few c/g friends of mine have upped their rates from $200/z to either $225 or $250. Anyone else seeing this? Now that there is an official price for meds, I don't think they realized what a deal they were giving.

All these c/g's bitching about the pricing at the center but they aren't complaining that their black market has been strengthened by the opening.

What a fucked up state

Shit! I've seen 300 to 350 an ounce for just mid out here where I live! Now if you want killer "med" type tree, you will pay out the ass for it! Anywhere from 400 on up to 500 an ounce!!! No bullshit!! That & it doesn't help when its dry as shit around here too!!!

Yea,...it's far from dry here though,lol. We have growers sitting on weight that they were planning on supplying the center with till the prices were announced and now there's lots of herb bouncing around. Even with that.....prices are rising.

I just keep telling myself that at least those who had no other alternative, have a safe place to access meds. There ARE cheaper meds available there. Keep telling myself, keep telling myself, keep telling myself....but I'm starting to not believe me,lol

Haha! I hear ya bro.. ;) yeah, I've. Had to sit on my tree before, atleast until there wasn't so mmuch around, so I would get ripped a new ass on $!! Cause I don't know if it has ever happen to you or others, which I'm sure if you've everf been in the game b4 it has! But I will always hear from people looking to score alittle tree here & there, oh man that isn't worth but like 15 or 10 a g!! Knowing good a damn well I just made over 25$ a g last week on it! Which I don't like putting a $ tag of anywhere over 20$ a g anyway, if I can help it! Cause I know how it is. But what some people don't understand is, it takes a lot of time, & not to mention $, blood, sweat & sometimes tears, to grow its unreal at times!! Which 4 the most part I don't like letting on I grow to anyone that I do get rid of any tree to, cause its hard to tell what can happen if you know what I mean.. I've always been told the less you let on & tell people about our hobby, the better off you will be!! :mrgreen:

I am seeing the same trend with the group of people I know. I also know a few that are charging more for certain popular strains now because of slater doing the same.

Fair is Fair...If an all out business can do it why cant anyone else..Its a hot commodity,people are gonna pay if they really want it.

hah, i called this like a solid 2 weeks ago... knew it would happen.

if only i wasnt so scetched out to deal with other people i could help out. i know plenty that still do 200 oz. but soon enough that will all be gone.

Ill hookup friends for $300/oz. As far as legal states go, I've got a good friend here who lived in Colorado and said my weakest shit so far was better than any he's gotten from the dispensaries.

I think everyone is frustrated about the lack of transparency on the part of Slater projecting their buy side pricing. Nobody was growing and putting weight aside for Slater dreaming of $125/Oz, NET 30 Terms.

I never heard anyone complain about a $200 ounce in my life. I agree that with a personal c/g, you may get a better set up deal like first ounce free per month but the center has options we don't offer like reiki, massage, chiro, acupuncture and pressure, etc. not to mention different size portions,....last time I sold an quarter, it was called "2 fingers",lol

Being down there makes you realize just how many patients there are in relation to quality c/g's. There arent a lot of folks who do it well for the patient. Many who do, and kudos to those folks, but we all know many folks got used just so their "caregiver" could get a card to become a drug dealer

I think that now there are 2 options,it's nothing but a win/win for the patient

Your friend is going to the wrong dispensaries if that's what he's finding! There's some very, very good pot out here and prices are dirt cheap.

Well, not really true. Cause some yeilds I KNOW 4 a fact that some strains don't produce all that much, and if a grower is only growing a certain # of trees, there only going to get like 6 to 8 oz, like said depending on strain, and also vegging time. You have to factor in all the out of pocket costs, such as light bill, exp through vegging! Also, the strains thereself, I know 4 a fact if purchased from a good seedbank or breeder you'll pay no less then 5$ a bean, maybe more, depends again on strains. Then there the nutrients. As most growers know, if you don't go cheap, such as MG or any other cheaper end nutrients, the higher line nutrients isn't cheap! I've had to fork out 100's of dollars just in nutrients alone. With all of those to factor in, I could see 300$ an ounce. Not to mention all the time involved in growing! And also the risks the growers taking if not in a legal state. So there's a lot to factor in. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I just finished a grow and took notes on cost and yield.....I am in small house in Rhode Island. Just wanted to compare what my cost to yield would be compared to street cost.

5x5 tent, 600 watt hps, carbon filter, in line fan, 16" oscillating fan
$1200 One time cost


Dedicated room in home for growing in my home


9 clones (og kush, chem sister, white widow and blue widow)


3.5 months grow and dry time


Cost of materials and utilities
120 clones
500 soil, bags and nutes for cycle
500 heat and electric for 3.5 months


$1120 cost less labor


120 hours ....No cost for my labor as I am disabled and not working but I spent few hours a day average and 36 hours trimming and curing


Yield from all 9 plants was 17 oz of flowers and 4 oz of usable trim

If my labor was $10 an hour it adds $1200 to $1100 for cost of $2300 for 17 oz


Labor is the big cost factor after the one time garden hardware cost

Thats a Good breakdown Rat! So according to your numbers it is costing about $135 per oz to grow..... If you sold that for only $200, you are only inflating your product by 30%.... This is basically giving it away..... ANY retail item whether it be a shirt, a watch, or a beer - is normally inflated 100%.... So what you SHOULD be getting id $275... If people cry about $200, tell em to go somewhere else...

I only have a dozen grows under my belt and did not care for plants as well as an experianced grower/caregiver, my yeilds should have been a bit more, but with 600w it was good. I think at the end of the day prices from caregivers are quite fair and dispensary prices reflect the "extras" if that's for you. In my case the effort is not worth it to grow my own with my physical limitations and will gladly work with the awesome caregivers Rhode Island has. It's hard work, dedication and I dare to say love that goes into the gardens and work they provide and that is where I think compassion is demonstrated.

Is it really that hard for you to grow a plant? I mean trimming takes some time and patience but damn blood, sweat and tears I have broken a sweat growing but I wouldn't compare it to becoming a professional fighter. sure it will go for 20 a gram all day around here but no way am I charging that not only cause I don't nickle and dime I'm just not greedy my shit has the quality but I just don't allow it I'm not looking to get rich quick just do something I enjoy and help out those who enjoy the same plant without getting ripped off by greedy people who are obviously in it all for the money and not the plant. Just pray I don't wind up in a warehouse. lol, :bigjoint:
