everywhere I read pruning is a terrible idea
not true. pruning a plant allows for light to better penetrate down through and into the plant, resulting in bud sites receiving a better distribution of light and therefore making more bud so to speak.
removing leaves or nodes isnt a bad thing.
the lollipoping method consists of cutting the lower 1/3 or so of the nodes to allow all the bud potential to go to the top of the plant, basically re-distributing its hormones, just as topping does.

As promised...

Day 40 of Flowering

Drum Roll...

1-6 = Critical Mass x Sensi Star
7-11 = Blueberry x UK Cheese
12-16 = Mystery Clone believed to be Lemon Sour Desil

Not too bad for a first timer huh?

LSD seems to be in the lead is has the most red-orange to white hair ratio as of right now followed by blue cheese. The Sensi Star is way more critical mass than sensi star, sensi is supposed to be short and squat which clearly doesn't match the description of my plant ha. might have to wait a bit longer on the sensi star to finish then the other two.

Ill try to get a pic up of the light setup asap man prob within the next two days but i used a 400w metal halide for vegging for 5 weeks then 400w high pressure sodium for flowering, the setup i got (1 - 400w ballast (like a mini generator to send pulses to the light bulb to keep such a bright light), 1 - 400w Metal Halide bulb, 1 - 400w High Pressure Sodium bulb, and 1 - hood (reflective silver piece the bulb screws into) for around 300 bucks. the price of an ounce. you could easily get much more than an ounce in a 3 month grow man.

well harvest time for me is coming up shortly for my two indicas (blue cheese, mystery clone) so i figured i'd upload some super closeups to see how far away it really is from harvest time =)

so what are the opinions out there as to when to harvest. What i'm shooting for is 1/2 milky 1/2 amber on the trichs. but is theres somebody with a better idea let me know!

So today the Blue Cheese and the clone both got their last watering with nutes, the next 2-3 waterings will be pure H20 followed by 24-72 hours of complete darkness, then harvest time! The Critical Sensi Star still will be getting nutes although it has mostly indica genes it seems to be a little behind on flowering compared to the other 2 strains. I'm expecting to be harvesting the Critical Sensi Star in about 3 weeks.

Been a crazy couple weeks with the holidays and all but I have been keeping up with my pics so theres a shit load but its well worth it. To get you all up to speed this post will cover the harvesting, drying, and curing of a Lemon Sour Desil Clone and a Big Buddha Blue Cheese plant from seed. Also it will show you the status at 68 days flowering for my Critical Sensi Star plant that is still growing.

Pics

1-9 Lemon Sour Desil Clone

10-21 Big Buddha Blue Cheese

looks good, next time try 5gal buckets if u have room. You'll increase your yield. I'm starting a CSS today and it will be hydro with Botanicare nutes. After seeing this one I cant wait. looks good!

wait..... why the premature harvest?
First grow man kinda jumped the gun and went by the calender instead of the trich's. The sensi star bottom branches were just cut about 3 days ago and are hanging as we speak the main cola seems to be maturing a bit slower which im pretty sure is normal so im letting that mature a bit longer, besides it leaves more time for flushing for an even smoother final product.

Yea man I deff was thinking i didnt reach potential cuz of the restriction of root space for my plants =( next time will def be using 5 gals. As far as the CSS goes man all i can say it that thing got big fast and matured slower than expected but i tried a sample of the lower branching i recently cut and dried it is already one of the best bowls I've smoked and it was just popcorn buds from the bottom. I'll post pics when I cut down the main cola and hang it. Let me know how yours goes man!
