Strange growth on lower flowers while tops look proper?

I have this weird lower growth happening on my flower, but aside from that the plants seem healthy and the tops look great. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I just started week three.

I was thinking pulling these weird growth sites off because I didn’t think there would be a recovery but I wasn’t sure yet.

Hm... I had a russet mite problem recently that started just like that. I ordered a handheld microscope off of Amazon to find out for sure.

Oh okay, I appreciate the input. I’ll treat the soil with Azomax so hopefully that will take care of them.

Best off getting a scope first to verify. If not for this problem at least for the next. Use to check trichomes before chopping too.

Can never go wrong having a microscope in your toolkit when growing!

Looks like youve got a bug problem of some sort. In your 3rd pic, zoom into the top left leaf by your hand. Can you see those little white dots? Somethings sucking on the underside of your leaves. Id suspect a mite of some sort. Whitefly also leaves the same markings..... turn your leaves over and inspect very closely for something that resembles a speckle of pepper....?

Could be slowly working their way up the plant??

Not even. It does look like russet mites and azamax won't touch them. Time to do some serious homework

Ive heard russet mites make the leaves twist and curl. Do you notice any slight leaf deformities james? Could use a neem oil spray to keep them at bay for now if not too far into flower...? Its relatively safe. Just spray on underside of leaves. Not sure if their like spider mites? But those bastards become immune if you use one spray for too long, so you have to alternate between 3 or 4 different pesticides.....

If it turns out to be russet mites, I was successful against them by using Nuke'Em and Forbid.

Forbid and Azamax together. The Azamax is a concentrated neem oil. The oil acts as an extender which then helps the pesticide stick around long enough to deal with hatchlings, covering the entire life cycle.

I've fought the russet mite menace more than once so I know what works.

It is important to get a microscope and actually verify the presence of russet mites. They're like tiny cones.

Forbid 4F is the way to go here. For an active infestation use 1.2 mL/gal thats max and sometimes plants will get a little funky looking with some mutated looking leaves but that won't persist. Just let them grow out of it. for a preventative application one should use 1.0 mL/gal.

And mix it with 60ml/gal of Azamax. The result will kill the infestation in one application if you're thorough!

Do NOT use either of these past week 1 or 2 of bloom.

Lots of samples in legal recreational states have turned up pesticides and fungicides. Apparently they don’t analyze for these on state required analysis. Another very good reason to grow your own.
