Strains you don't enjoy

for fucks sake im not here to bash any cannabis, i love it all and would gladly smoke the strains i'm not fond of

Name the strain(s) you dislike and maybe a why, too. Just curious to see what rolls out


I never was never stoked getting AK-47. Had too much of it, always lacked a distinct flavor and scent, and gave me average high feels

I believed the hype over 'purple' and 'grape' strains. All seem to meet at best minimum expectations. Not that I want color, but why isn't my Grape Ape being an award winner buzz? (dont answer)

For some reason I really don't like blueberry strains. Even when I was an inexperienced smoker I never was impressed by it. I grew some blue chees that was some decent bud but the high was nothing special. However most recently I picked up some sweet deep grapefruit (blueberry x grapefruit). I have never smoked a bud that gave me such a depressing feeling as that.

in my experience every purple strain ive ever had has been lacking in the potency department, theres a reason for that....purple strains arent bred for the usual traits that cannabis is bred for, purple is usually bred for just that, purple...they just take the most colorful they can find and cross them, not try to find the most potent, which is what most do.

I havent grown it and most likely want GSC OR ANY OFF SPRINGS MINT/PLAT. COOKIES LACK OF FLAVOR AND POTENCY HAD FROM THE CLUB F+ AND A FRIEND C-

Purple strains are for tokers who dont know dick about marijuana. Dont get me wrong it definately adds to the aesthetic appeal, but you have to chuckle abit when people blow their load over purple. If you try explaining why purple weed is purple they think your a dumbass

I have a cut of DJ Shorts Blueberry that was used in the breeding projects back in the day , its an old cut and not really all that potent . It will stone a low tolerance smoker hard but for me it is like koolaid compared to whiskey .

The comments about purple pot are generally true , although I do have a cross made with Black Jack and PlushBerry that is simply purple dank and a rare find at that for purple , so not all purple pot sucks but it will most likely suck if it was chosen for this trait and bred for such . It is just a trade off and I would never trade off color for potency . I ll be honest and say that the green phenos are always better than there purple siblings and my Black Jack x Plush green pheno is so fucking dank I will probably have to use it for breeding purposes .

I could really type one hell of a list here as at least 80 % of the shit people grow is simply mediocre and I dislike mediocre pot hence the name !

shit if I didn't have any good weed I'd be enjoying a nice blunt of mexican brick. more so than smoking pipe resin thats for sure.

I remember Mexican brick weed back in the day. Blunts sure as hell did aid the smoke all-around

oh, good bud makes good and quality resin. I noticed the better your buds are, the closer to real bud your resin or even bong water smells

I've had like, two or three times in my life where purple weed was actual quality. Southern Charm is the top of my purple list.

Yeah I agreed purps usually suck balls. Who cares about colour. Only thing I find purps bringing to the table is a candy flavour, if lucky leans towards grape candy. Then again, I can buy grape candy for 5 cents and tastes better. Weed needs to get yoy high first

But for some reason in the north east you can sell purple bud for more even though the green shits better smoke and the purple will still go quicker. I really don't care about having the most potent smoke either I prefer the better tasting buds myself then it don't really matter how potent it is cause I'm gonna want to smoke more just cause it tastes so damn good. But it just goes to show everyone likes different weed I've had some good purple weed and the blueberry I smoked was pretty good and it had some purple I wouldn't have called it weak either didn't taste like blueberry but it tasted good.

Don't much care for the ones with diesel fuel smell/taste

I would agree 100% with this paragraph, you can find a diamond in the rough so to speak. Whats funny is afew years ago i had a purple pheno and green pheno of plushberry and although they were close, the green pheno was definately better. Unfortunately i lost those cuts and afew others, but i had a Casey Jones pollinate my room so now ive got some absolutely killer CJ crosses. CJ is like a plant on steriods and now my crosses have unreal vigor

I can honestly say I've only had one purple strain that truly got me high in a sense of what I'm used to. Basically I find purple to be great for colors and taste, but this is my medicine and I want to be strong. I don't give a fuck about colors, or having a grape taste to my ganja.

right now I do have a goji going that smells of strawberries. I'm quite excited about that.

I have had purple Cataract Kush and black/purple Tahoe that was straight up fire.

Tangerine Dream tops my list for bullshit. It isn't potent, but the little bit of buzz it does gives you is a slightly dizzy, drunk buzz.

On purple, I think it sort of depends on what you're after. Its not "meant" to be a purple strain, but I grew out some Green Crack S1 that went purple (which was kind of neat), and it had absolutely great flavor, scent, and bag appeal. Potency was certainly good, if not absolutely exceptional, and I definitely wouldn't put this in the "don't enjoy" category.




On Mexi schwagg, IMO the biggest problem there is just the harshness of the smoke from bad cure. Potency also isn't exceptional, but grown right the flavor is good, and high quality is excellent. Obviously, I'd rather not smoke nasty import brick, but at least on a strain/genetics level I definitely would NOT put this in the "don't enjoy" category either:




Stuff I don't enjoy? Thinking back, I think I've had more negative experiences with bad grows than bad smoke.

Its been a long time, but I've had some stuff that just went full blown hermie right out of the gate. I don't think anybody enjoys that.

I grew out some Thai landrace, and although the flavor was absolutely extraordinary, the plants were stretchy as hell, had no yield, went hermie, and took forever and a month to finish. Then after all that, potency was low. Learned a good lesson about sativa landraces, though. Grew out some generic "White Widow" that took 12 weeks to finish but never went frosty, was annoyingly leafy/hard to trim, and had a completely uninteresting scent/flavor. Yield was nothing to write home about either. Surprisingly to me, potency was decent, but that one good thing couldn't erase all the other negatives.

Most Kushes (like, actual strains from the Kush valley) aren't my bag. They make me feel lazy and depressed. Not a fan.

Also, fuck Jammerz hard. AKA: Jamaican Sugar, aka Steaming Pile of Dog Shit with a super distinct odor that I run screaming for the door from whenever I smell it, AKA Looks good but offers absolutely no noticeable affect at all and it yields good.

I guess it might have some kind of weird cannabinoid profile worth investigating, but holy shit is it ever horrible smoke for anyone actually needing the affects of THC.

It's a BC commercial cut that I believe is referred to as beasters in the United States.

Lots of great purple varieties/cuts/strains out there too.

Purple haze is notorious of course. Las Vegas Purple Kush is super potent. Not a huge fan of it, but potency is definitely not lacking (nor anything else except yield).

There are some nice purple phenos of Killing Fields. I have a purple (not completely, but purple hues) pheno of Sugar Punch that's some of the strongest shit I've ever smoked.
