Strains with great taste. :)

Hello!

Its rare when i smoke a strain with a fruity or sweet taste to it in a joint / bong / pipe ...

Last week i harvested one Kaya 47 (Advanced Seeds) with a really citrusy/lemony type of smell, so GOOD,almost a fresh smell!
Yesterday i smoked one 0.7 gr joint with my friend ,the taste was just like burned herb, very hot smoke...
Why is this?
My Bubblegummer (Female Seeds) was very sweet and tasty,my Blue Mystic (Nirvana) was really fresh,woody,pineapple!...

My question is why some strains just taste like burned herb and others taste so good?

My Buds:
-Organic medicine
-They smell very nice
-Well dried
So i dont know what is the problem.

Maybe this strains with not a lot of taste when smoked, need to be cured to bring the taste?
I just cured one time one Bubblelicious (Nirvana) and the taste was very sweet...

So i appreciate some help because i like my buds with an awesome taste!

Ps: Say the name of some strains with great taste and smell in your own experience.

Three things come into play I think...

Growing method
Genetics
drying/Curing

Also, please keep in mind that smell and taste alone are not indicative of good herb. Some of the best tasting and best smelling herb I've smoked has had the weakest stone.

On the other hand I've smoked herb where the taste and smell was very subtle (like opening a spice cabinet), and was the stoniest pot ever...

Mostly it boils down to genetics. If you want both full-bodied flavour like you can't believe, and POWER to back it up, try some NYC Diesel from Soma Seeds. It STINKS to high heaven when it grows, kinda like a combo of rotten grapefruit, jet fuel, and a touch of dead rat. It smellllllssssss.

But I've NEVER given anybody a hit without the flavour being mentioned INSTANTLY. Hands down my fave for taste, and kicks ass everytime.

I can attest to that. I got some super citrus/piney smelling herb once..can't remember the strain..but you seriously could not keep the smell down. Even double-bagged. Smoked a joint of it expecting to get blasted and was surprised I didn't feel much...thought maybe it was just a creeper, nope. Payed top $$ for some great air freshener.

Querkle from TGA in a clean bowl, bong or whatever... as long as its clean... The first hit in said clean bong, pipe is unreal... And it has some kick to it as well.. Definitely the best tasting herb I've smoked.. Tastes like grapes... Unreal..

Yes, i know that man...the high of this Kaya 47 is very heady, spacey and a little euphoric, is potent but i like my buds with a great taste, thats all!

I searched about this strain . Kaya = High outdoor yielder Ak47 = Potency.

I have one Black Diesel (Advanced Seeds) and 3 Dieseltonics (Resin Seeds) in veg, they can have something in common with the NYC Diesel from Soma... I can buy a pack of NYCD but the price it a little high, not a problem at all but with that money i can buy 3x more seeds i guess. :)

Soma's NYCD is probably the best tasting weed I have smoked. He does very limited runs of seeds so that would be why I think the price is higher. Getting a good cure will make all the difference in some strains others like OG and HeadBand don't need as much of a cure to get the flavor out of them. You should get yourself a hygrometer to put in your jars to know what your humidity is at to get a perfect cure. You want your humidity to be between 55% - 65% and is best at 62%. Anything under 55% will not cure and anything 70% and over should be taken out of the jar and let dry more else it will mold. between 55-65% you can leave the jar closed for long periods of time and you should pop the lid off for periods of time for 65-70%. Here is a good hygrometer to get.

http://www.amazon.com/Western-Humidor-CALIBER3-Thermometer-Hygrometer/dp/B0007W1EA6/

Note: hygrometers vary a little even when placed right next to each other I have 4 and they will be 2 +/- of each other in humidity and this is very common.

Chemdawg lineage if you like fuely. Flo if you prefer fruity. Microbe living soil organic will always allow more genetic expression and flavor over soup or bottle organics. AACT ups flavor if you are a soup grower

I couldn't agree more. I used to spend quite a bit of dollar on really good organic bottle nutes. Now I spend about all my garden money on good soil and great amendments. I found by putting everything in the soil in the first place, and then applying some good A.A.C.T's during veg and bloom was definitely the way to go. I was running the same plants and it was almost like having new genetics. I was really surprised by the difference. I thought I was bringing out the full potential with the organic bottle nutes, and it just wasn't the case. I definitely spend a little more on all the amendments and the better soil, but it's hard to put a price on happiness and the best meds I can possibly grow for myself considering a giant portion of why I smoke is appetite stimulation. If I can almost make my mouth water with my session before I eat, all the better for me. Curing is also so critically important. The 62% humidity is something to live by. There are humidity packs by I think a company called aveda or something, they're like hand warmers but they keep humidity at 62% no matter what in your jar. If it's too humid they suck up moisture, and if it's too dry they will release it. There is a stainless steel food grade container called canna vault. They come in different sizes and they come with those humidity packs. I bought a couple online and they work really great for long term storage, after you've cured properly. I really like the packs though you can dry out your herb throw them in jars and put a pack in, remember to burp, and it makes it all pretty easy. Good luck, Good grow, Be safe, :peace: out.

Hey myco you should really think about recycling your soil. And with amendments look into buying them in bulk like 50 lb bags, the price goes down by 50% or more when you buy them that way.
