Strains and yields.

I'm a rookie grower with only a few months of total growing under my belt. I'm curious the importance of strains for indoor growin yields. for outdoor it seems a bit more cut and dry. the more vigorous the growth the greater the yeild. with indoor there seems to be more factors given the limited square footage per watt and different ways one can train a plant and density of certain strains. I have a little experience with Dosidos(cookie x face off og) most consider this a low to moderate yeilder. but in my experience it yeild's as good as anything I've ran because it's incredibly density. I could be wrong, but it seems to me for indoor growing the more dense strains would be the best yeilders because we're trying to get the most bud in limited square footage. given this I've read people saying things like blue dream can yeild 2.5 pounds per 1000 watts and og strains only 1.5-2. I'm confused on this.
