Strain Suggestion For Neoropathy

First I start with a intro:

I live in WA state. My wife went through chemo (6 session + 45 days of radiation) due to lymphomia that was found on her fermur. She is now 1 year out of treatment with no sign of a relapse. Thank God.

We were both new to smoking at the begining of her treatment. She smoked for obvious reasons associated with chemo and I started smoking as a release. We now smoke occasionaly, and now would like to start growing our own.

My wife now suffers from neropathy in both her legs. She was given doses of chemo in her spine that probably caused this pain, but it has not been found after numerous MRI's. She has been taking numerous pain pills (mainly oxycodone as well as some pain meds specific to neropathy) that seem to have limited success, and now I am really concerened about the side effects of taking these meds for such a long time. We also have used accupunture, which seems to work at least temporarily. The pain is getting better, but it is slow and I would like to wean her off as much of the pills as possible.

Does anybody have some suggestions for a weed strain that would help my wife. I would like a strain of pot that primarily relieves my wifes pain without getting her stoney high (if that is possible) We have a perscription from her oncologist and I have plenty of room in the basement to grow.

I am planning setting up a 1000W system to grow some for her medical use and a little for recreational use too. Probably 1/2 oz per month of the medical pot and 1 oz a month of the recreational pot for fun.

Thanks for your suggestions

Steve

Are you medical marijuana patients? Do you need any info on the subject?

This is an Indica based strain that has been recommended for pain because of it's intense high:

Breeder's Description - 'Apollo 11 x Matanuska Thunderfuck'
Matanuska Thunder from Brother's Grimm grew some huge size rock hard buds with many girls snapping due to the great weight and size. I myself found Matanuska Thunder to be very mould resistant compared to other strains with a terrific smooth high and a intensely skunky smell and flavor. Of around 30 females I selected only one was used for this cross and this particular MTF clone produced a strong trait of purple not a result of cold temps. As you know both these strains are known for their legendary highs and above average yields and by crossing A-11 into MTF has lowered the flowering time to around the 7 week mark and still keeping that awesome high that many of us love. Great for the indoor cultivators wanting great yields and highs. This cross is just another lot of dense resinous buds that produces magical highs.

A11xMTF was a breeze to grow. It started strong in veg no real problems to speak of it displayed average growth and was easy to deal with. It was defiantly a sativa, from day one in veg it had long slim leaves and branched very well but remained short and compact.

When I flipped it to 12/12 it stretched for about 2 weeks but still was starting to show flowers for most of the stretch. It stretched to about twice its original size and then promptly directed all of its energy to flower production. It grew like a dream and got plump little buds very quickly that started to smell of fresh cut peaches at first an then later changed to more of a spicy fruit smell.

The buds were very tight and compact, it reminded me the most of C99 in smell and appearance. The last two weeks the buds got very heavy and I thought a few branches might snap but they all held. The buds did start to drape down a lot for the last week mainly due to the wait of the flowers. It finished on day 45 and was put in the dark for 48hrs.

We chopped her and hung for about 5 days then threw the buds in a paper bag for another 5 days, then to the jars for another week before we tested it. The yield although didn't look as big as others was very respectable due to how dense and tight the buds are. An ounce of this looks like a half and ounce of more fluffy bud. I yielded over 5 ounces no Co2. Not bad from seed.

This smoke is POTENT a couple of hits and you are good for at least an hour. My buddy called me and complained that I ruined his golf game because he was so stoned. The taste is of tropical fruit and a nice undertone of spice that I would say is from the A11 side. On the exhale you have a nice sweet taste on the back of your tongue. I have had weed that has had a more pronounced taste but not many.

Over all this has been a wonderful strain to grow and is a very good addition to my garden. I take my hat off again to Spice bros for creating such quality strains for such a fair price.

I think Mogie's suggestion was an excellent one. In addition- I am a caretaker for hospice patients, and the ones who are taking medicine for pain (as opposed to an appetite stimulant, or just to feel good) seem to prefer Indica-heavy strains as opposed to Sativas. Also, eating the medicine instead of smoking it seems to have a better effect on some people. If you haven't already, I would make some cannabutter and bake some brownies...

If you set up a 1000 watt grow room, you are going to have the capability of growing a hell of a lot more medicine than an a couple of ounces per month. Unless you want to grow more medicine than what you indicated, you could easily cut that wattage in half and save money.

I am sincerely sorry to learn of your wife's troubles, and I hope she continues to improve, and is able to function with as few pills as possible. Good luck bro-

I suffer from neuropathic pain. Indicas are best for relieving the cramping. The best I've found is Legend's "Ultimate Indica." In my experience, the pot with the narcotic stone are the ones that relieve neuropathic pain the best. And, I agree with DankyDank ... cookies are the way to go.

Thanks again for the info. And thanks for the well wishes. The cancer was caught early and all indications are that it was taken care of with the treatment, but who knows what the future holds. Gave both of us a new outlook on life - she was 31 when she was diagnosed.

We are both looking how to get healthy again - at the top of the list is getting her off the pills.
