He was in the house. I like to leave him in here when I go out, since this is what I really want protected.

Man I almost never leave my house. The one time I actually convince myself it'll be okay and get to enjoy myself for a couple hours (I hadn't taken the Mustang for a joy ride in about 2 years), some asshole creepy-crawls my back deck.
It took a lot of convincing to dismiss my paranoia so I could leave in the first place, only to have it reinforced when I got home. Thanks prick thief, you stole more than just a plant!
There are some low down unscupulous mofo's out there Jerry.

Shame you didn't have a security camera.

Its a good choice, if you have a valuable crop to stay with the plants the past few weeks of flower. It is also a good choice to get a pump shotgun (with flashlight) and learn how to shoot skeet or clay pigeons. If you can shoot skeet you can blast a thief in the ass crack. Im a big fan of non lethal ammo such as rock salt loads or rubber bullets. You can hurt the thief bad and not have to deal with the cops because you just killed a dude for stealing your pot. It will also let them know that your not fucking around. Im not a violent guy but if someone was coming to steal my shit I would shoot him in the ass crack faster than you can say boo.

Along with my handgun I've got a couple cans of pepper spray. Can't just shoot someone in your yard, no matter how tempting it is. Always gotta think about non-lethal solutions. If you act out of rage you'll pay the price. It's hard but you need to keep a level head, even when dealing with the scum of the earth.

Swamps- you don't go bird hunting or small game hunting in the swamp. Most sane people wouldn't think of taking a walk through the swamp.
Next year get a trail cam, you can see whats going on, and a better spot.
how much do trail cams go for and swamp is where im looking to grow this year, any advice would be key in helping me achieve a bunch of bountiful trees.

I bought one a few years ago it was around $50.00. it works ok. I seen more expensive one with the LCD screen to view your pictures. You sorta get what you pay for.
I like to use Google Earth to look for grow spots. You can see those higher knolls, and ridges in the swamp.
The only problem with those high spots in the swamp, is that deer like to go there and lay down during the day.
Your probably going to have to put together some make shift enclosure. I did mine with some trees I cut down and some wire.
Enough to keep the deer out.
Until your plants get out of the seedling stage Rabbits can be a problem. I had one eat some of a seedling.
I don;t think they like the taste of the plant. they ate enough just to mess it up.

Good Luck on Your Grow

rabbits are A fucken problem in my area if I leave a seedling unguarded in a small pot without anything covering it loosely, it will be eaten in a day or two. any advice on water if I cant find a good marshy area away from civilization

Good spots are hard to find outdoors.some spots I had where right close to the road just out of sight.these spots the only way some would be there is if there car broke down.Find a spot to park a ways away and hike it and dont go often.Bury buckets leave the tops open at ground level.put sticks over the buckets and when it rains you'll collect water that way.

But that sucks ass what happened to ya.
