Steven King Fans?

This is a little quiz:

Did King ever describe an hallucinogenic experience for himself or one of his characters?

I've read several stephen king books that include hallucinations.

Never with a substance though. It was brought on by stuff like environmental factors or insomnia (which was also the name of one of the books)

I am talking about subsance induced affects.

Was it Bart in Roadwork? I think he took mescaline.

Stephen King's one of my favorite writers. His best writing IMO was when he was all boozed and coked up.

I'm reading Lisey's Story right now.

The only problem with his recounting of the "synthetic mescaline" was his description of the pill, "placed on the nail of your little finger it wouldn't touch either side" or something to that effect.

Classic mistake. Kudos to SK for using the concept of psychs, but obviously not any experience or enough research re: mescalito. Surprising coming from Steven, really.

Cujo is one of my favourite reads.

It is clear that he was writing from experience in this passage however.
