I use pool shock in my cloner now as well. I have well water here, and without the shock I was running about 10% success rate and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Read a thread on here about using shock and tried it, my success rate went to about 80% overnight. I just add about 1/8 tsp every 4 days or so of the same stuff I put in my pool.

Oh and my household bleach changed strength so check when you get new bottles. My pool bleach runs between 63 to 75% and it's a solid which makes it easier to store

Im excited to try this. I’m thinking the hotter weather has played a role in my lower success rate. I swap the water in the cloner every 3-4 days but my room stays around 80 degrees this time of year. Is there a difference in quality in pool bleach vs standard home bleach?

I've been using hypochlorous acid and it's been working great but I'm not into the cost. I got mine with a discount so I didn't pay full price. After it's done I'm just going with pool shock. It's way cheaper and does the same thing.

The main difference is strength, household bleach is usually 3-6% while pool bleach runs 10% and up.

I used a short interval timer on my cloning bucket in the hotter weather. I ran a cycle like 30 seconds on/10 minutes off. The only downside is I'm pretty sure all the start stop cycles wore out my pump much faster.
