well I got a 400 watt bulb today just to be safe.. I'd rather not be responsible for a fire hazard, but I have seen a few examples of people on this site dimming ther lamps with the same ballast, I thought thats what it was desinged for.. but I talked to the guy at the grow store and he didn't really recomend doing it, because it would change the light spectrum of the lamp, so I bought a 400 watter.. thanks for your help

My friend has the digital i know what your talking about hes got one just like yours except 1000w with "super lumens"
and no you cant dim them its for use of different bulbs the 1000w has a super lumen function witch is used with the 1000w bulb.
Good thing you bought the 400, go on the ballast manufacturers web site it will tell you that its very dangerous to dim bulbs and voids warranty.
And the hydro store guy was who first informed me that this is a fire hazard and a common mistake most people assume. maby your guy is a noob lol

Hey RUI its week 8 now and it my fourth day of flowering, so far I think they are all female, I'm seeing pistal looking hairs on all them, but the weird thing is I've seen them for over a week or two way before I started to flower, and they're not auto flowers or feminized seeds. I cant wait to see some buds start to grow!! the temps have been slightly higher with the HPS lamp but it's not out of control, I've just raised the light a bit higher to compensate... So now I'm using a 50/50 blend of veg and flower nutes for the transition period(following the instructions on the back) other then that I'm just letting them do their thing I haven trimmed them or LSTed or anything just letting them grow, I'm going to run out of room soon the next few weeks will be interesting, check out the pics and let me know what you think!:blsmoke:

Well bad news, they were all male!! I'm soooo chocked. I mean what are the odds of that.. well I have 4 seeds left and will start all over again so I'll start a new thread and will post a link here later just in case anyone was following along

your setup looks good man I got a similer one in my closet you said you where havin problems with heat you can get the heat down if you get more air flowin get rid of the extra ducting and those kinks and bends in your ducting it should be as short and straight as posible all that extra is making your fan lose CFM also increase the size of your intake if your running 4inch duct your intake should be at least 8inch also you should consider cutting a hole in the roof of your closet and pumping your filtered exhaust into the attic instead of directly outside just some friendly advice.
