So i got bored and decided i wanted to plant up my seeds that i still had layin around that i had not planted yet due to lack of space and lack of faith in them (long story, probably wont happen to anyone else so im not going into it) Anyways i took the 7 drawer desk that was sitting next to my bed and turned it into my seedling/sexing box. Right now its running on 42700k 100w equivalent cfl's on the right side and on the other a random assortment of 4 low wattage 2700k cfl's. I know i need some 5500k-6500k bulbs for veg but i would rather spend the money on http://www.inductionlamps.com/screwInSpecs.shtml

I will be getting at least one of the wide ones to test in a 6500k form. I dont really need 2700k because i will only really be sexing stuff with this box and maybe the occasional test batch of a new strain. If i am flowering i can supplement with the cfl's til i get pissed and decide to just buy another induction bulb.

Heres some pics of whats in the cab right now, BBK is black berry kush from nirvana these are the pics of what lived out of many many many seeds all of them done in this cab surprisingly temps stay at about 80 warmest when the desk is closed up and 70 or so when its open, i need a computer fan to run some air through it so i dont have to keep it open and leak light everywhere. I have some black jack from them as well that i did in this cab but it has since been moved out, those worked out great 10/10 popped one tried to go upsidedown my fault for putting it in that way.

Anyways enjoy i will be flippin the switch on mystery tonight, gonna give about 24-48 hours complete darkness then throw it back on 12 12 lets hope its a female. Mystery is also from nirvana as well as wonder woman. Oh and check out the whorled/polyploid wonder woman seedling shit is sick.

hahah i smoke so much dank that the smell is cool they just cant see the slight light leaks i got or im fucked. They know about my other op and are cool with it just not supposed to be growin where i live you know lol. Just ordered up that induction bulb 6500k wide base 40w induction to replace the CFL's on the weak side. Not satisfied with the reveg goin on with the qleaner its not really doin shit the jilly is comin back super ill though.

Im surprised no one said anything about the mutated seedling in there gotta love the polyploids =) 3 nodes at every set

Well my induction bulb shipped this afternoon from CO so we shall see how long UPS ground takes during the week to get it to my spot in cali. Should have some new updates soon. I put mystery into flowering yesterday. It has true 7 prong leaf now going pretty hard fingers crossed hopin for a female. It smelled like mad sour d when i scratched at the stem a bit reminded me a lot of my current sourd x i have going right now. only leaf structure on this mystery is way different. Smells the same though

Don't knowhow I missed this thread, but now that I'm here I think you better reconsider the 40 watt induction bulb. If I were you I'd use a couple 15w induction bulbs, or maybe a 25w.

inductionlamps.com (Is this where you bought yours?)

You're going to have heat issues, and you might as well invest in another bulb or two rather than coping with temps. I put the 23w 6500k in my tent for a few days and turned off my Kessil. Plants loved it. Then I put the 15w (cool white) in to veg some sprouts and kicked on my Kessil. Everything's rosy.

edit: i just checked out your polyploid Wonder Woman. That IS sick. I have a trick for creating polyploids, if you're interested.

yes i am interested in creating poly's i was thinkin about those smaller bulbs but my issue was i wanted to run a single bulb and they way i would have had to mount those smaller bulbs would have been a pain in the ass to build a decent reflector to use on it. We shall see if i can get away with it with a few computer fans up in there too. I ordered mine from gladiator lighting some place in Colorado.

Gladiator Lighting? I'll have a look.

Why couldn't you just replace your cfls with those induction bulbs? They are plenty bright and reflectors would be nice but not essential.

An old growers handbook I have somewhere said you can create polyploids by soaking seeds in the juice from winter crocus bulbs. I've never tried it, and I don't recall how long to soak, but there you have it. I've always meant to try it, maybe I will now.

rofl holy shit that is some off the wall stuff. My reasoning behind not getting multiple small bulbs was more ballasts=more heat even if they are small ones. So i decided one big one and i liked the footprint better i dont think i will even have to move the bulb it will probably be stationary at the top of the desk. As for the intesity of the light cooking em eh i doubt it, i've seen guys with clones directly under like 2 inches under dual 150w hps lights but they had mad cooling for heat the intensity i dont think will be a problem unless i was running more power.

The smaller bulbs throw off much less heat. They are great for certain situations. As long as they are as long lived as claimed they are unbeatable. Very tiny amount of mercury used compared to CFLs, which is a big deal to me.

The folks at hydroponics hut warned that my 50w bulb like your 40w would fry seedlings and clones. Too intense.

well the switch got flipped three days ago now on the mystery plant hes goin pretty hard obviously still no sign of sex but hes pushin out new leaves like no tomorrow. All the wonder womans and Blackberry kushes are doing quite nicely on the other side of the drawer and the jilly bean is a few days away from getting some clones pulled. I gave her a 20% trim or so of the big fan leaves that had been damaged slightly by drought and bugs before i got her and even a few that were just blocking light to my laterals since i need them chunky for clones. The qleaner is well im not sure its reveging but not near as fast as i want it to. Im hopin this new light when it ever gets here after this shipping mixup handles the problem I need to check my tracking number right now. Heres pics.

so I just read somwhere the proper term for that wonder woman is trifoliate. Cool... new bulb is comin in this afternoon FINALLY so hopefully tomorrow ill be able to see some fresh growth comin out of the qleaner since its been havin trouble on the reveg

Trifoliate is a reference to morphology, polyploid is a reference to chromosomes.

Soaking seeds in winter crocus bulb juice does seem off the wall, but it's just chemistry. Be careful if you try it, it is poisonous. Handle with care.

hahahaha yeah im almost out of the dank though and since my blue dream mother died from rootbound i need to get cuts today too really badly and my delivery guy is laggin it on me i need to go with him to go look at mother structure to pick these fuckers.... I dont have too much time before i put a serious kink in my perpetual setup. ahaha you will be tokin up that cloud soon brotha i only got about a month and a half left on the black star crop man. Im going to try and get some pics of untrimmed nugs to post at the minimum if i cant get pics of em on the plants before we cut. God damn partner actin like a cunt

These were supposed to be bright, is it because of the difference in spectrum is blue easier on my eyes than the 2700k bulbs this one is 6500k

ugh lookin at these pics makes my head hurt it just looks so fuckin dim how could it be so damn dim what the helllllllllllllllll

cant get it any higher rofl thats as high as it goes did you see how damn big it was lol jesus hahaha i wish i had got the smaller ones now but then when i ordered this one i thought i would be using it for seedlings and shit. hrmmm is there a way to tell how its affecting my plants without me having to wait for results i mean i guess i do have thirty days and all to send it back for an exchange or somthing... if i do i could probably have enough to get my kessil next month errrrrrrrrrrrrrr... this is frustrating i guess i better train em back a bit and give em a few more days.... shit i have to start training the one i just sent into flowering too... aghhh and my guy isnt calling me back on my cuts i need since my blue dream mother died tonight is frustrating....
