Yea it is. I probably could feed them more but I'm still letting the coco dry out more than I would like due to the dam gnats. On some new growth I see little bite marks.

But if purple stems aren't due to under feeding please enlighten me

Hey bud, love your log so far still reading but wanted to pause and take a moment. You asked the question about cal/mag using it every feeding. Please some one correct me if I am wrong here, but I do think he should be using cal/mag during every feeding. He's in Coco, ph of 0. So what you put in is what you get out. The cal/mag is what you use first. I have always used it first and never ever had an issue with cal/mag. Even more since hes running under an LED light. LEDs are known to have issue and cause cal/mag issues. It's a base its pretty hard to over dose with it. I understand if you mean at the start, but this far into the grow I think cal/mag should be in every watering.

Your later pictures with the purple stem, that is starting to lead to a mag issue. I read that you soaked your cube in cal/mag before glad that worked for you, never done that :P. But I really think every watering you should have that. 5 ml per gallon.

Love your set up, man it's going to be interesting what you can do in that small tent :). My older set up was kind of like yours. I used coco for a while (Just moved to hydro) I loved coco was great used them in 3-5 gallon smart pots. I also use 2x California light works 440W(Did that so I get 2x the T8 bulbs + I like breaking them up.)

Question for you, are you using maxigrow or maxibloom atm? I haven't used this line from General Hydroponics I use mostly the Trio + other things from them. But shouldn't the maxibloom be used in the flowering stage? And maxigrow be used for veg stage.

I agree you need some every watering but now that you have a issue you need to determine what dose to go with. Not sure if you meant .5 or 5ml/gal. I would go with 5ml/gal if your using r/o water. I'm up to 9ml and its starting to come around. I slowly brought it up but should of hit it hard like the dispensary dude told me to. It'll get out of control fast.

Yeah, 5ml. I have never used more then 5ml per gallon. Where you having issues your self with only using 5ml?,

Also I did read more about maxibloom and guess it's the kiss method. I never seen it before going to read more about it, but I see its something some one went off the beating path with and decided to try it. For you being a first time growerish, what made you pick that option?

I see the maxibloom has cal/mag in it. I would recommend trying to add 2.5 ml (half a teaspoon) of cal/mag see if that helps your purple stemming next feeding. But cool little method learn something every day :)

Yea I noticed the purple stems yesterday and I upped the cal mag to 5ml per litter. It actually looks a little better today. Thanks for the heads up! Definitely cal mag is going in every watering.

Hey man I'm glad you appreciate my thread. I appreciate you!

I went with the kiss method becuase I wanted to use very minimal nutrients and see what I could grow. I invested in a almost perfect environment for the apartment I'm in so that and simplicity was my main goals. And plus I want to be saving money with my grow lol. But ya I'm giving cal mag every feeding m. Thanks for the feed back!

Oh and the LED rocks so far

Yeah just read more about it. The lucas knock off more or less :P But that's a really cool method and simple method. Always nice to learn new things. Really cool set up but hmm, you can't really have that much room in there can you? The pot its self is what a foot? Foot and a half? then the light its self needs to be around 20-30 away, doesnt leave a lot of playing room. What made you want to go with such a low height for a full flower?

I am not sure about the 220w, I know my 440w's I have to keep them atleast 20-25 inches away some times or they start to burn my tops(During bloom).

Also there was a question about the LED and it being bushy. Using LED or CFL will make the plants more bushy rather then using MH or HPS. So perfect for a scrog method in small space of course.

Honestly I needed my GF approval for my operation lol. I went with a 4foot tall tent cause I thought that would be enough room. Rookie mistake. But I maybe use this as a veg tent in the future. Ya right now the led are 26 inches away. The lowest I can eventually set my light is 18inches away. I'm placing my SCROG super low maybe 4 inches away from the pot.

hahaha guess she approves :) Fun making the mistake but then thinking of the save at the same time. Yeah, heh, with that LED I am not sure what the diode is on the smaller one. I know mine use a diode 5, and I have taken the color right out of my tips, turn them white kinda weird. But I do forseeing that being an issue. Remember that when you switch to bloom you are going to get a big boost in growth, keep this in mind when deciding to switch from veg to bloom.

You prob read about that before, but with you being a bit height challenged I wanted to point out that will prob be the biggest issue for you this grow.

Yea thanks for the consideration, I'm definitely keeping a close eye on the height. I'll probably won't veg too long and fill the SCROG screen maybe up to 50% I'm definitely trying to find the window to switch into flower without getting too big

Thanks bro, as does yours (: I use to use the LEDS a few years ago an had some damn good results with them. The only reason I was able to use one was bc I had one gifted to me from a co. In neatherlands to do a side by side comparisongrow. I think with the LEDS where a grower can adjust them closer to their plants vs with the standard HPS/MH having to be a good distance causing stretch. I had that happen with the side by side, the MH/HPS ladies where kinda lanky, an the ladies grew with the LEDS was short an compact. I just topped 2 of my ladies yesterday, the Jamaican Grape an the Moxie Grape Kush..

You think the LED has something to do with the plant being compact?

Your grow looks great![/QUOTE]

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg So there's something eating my leafs folks.... I wake up and I see fresh bite marks(very tiny bite holes) on some leaves and on one of them is missing a tip of the leaf. I'm not sure if gnats do this?

Anyways I've laid some yellow traps and applied another layer of DM earth... Any suggestions?

yah I was got really bad fast with the purple but its getting back in check and I'm backing mine back down to 6ml. It was really just with the kushes and kosher tangie. I wish I didn't go with so many different strains. Its cool but really a pain when you have to adjust for each one. Looking forward to narrowing it down next grow.

Turn ventilation off toss in a bug strip. Only do that during veg never in bloom. Stop taking them out :)

That's one of the big mistakes i did at least. I got to battle spider mites my first time.

Try a least 8 hours
