Starting over again....

Hey everyone,

I am starting a new crop. i had a bad turnout on my first grow. (started 15 sprouts, got 3 plants, 1 male, 1 hermy, 1 female....got 1/4 oz.)

I need some decent pointers because my female was over 4 ft tall and just did not want to bud BARELY!

I need some tips to make my plants grow strong (and a little faster than my other ones) I do not like using fertilizer because i have had some bad expieriences with it. Plus, i really do not have cash to spend on it.

I know general things about growing (good temps, humidity, lighting...blah blah blah) i want some tips that people use the work for them...

Please help me out. I want a better turnout this time.

man-get some good lights(some hps or mh or pleanty of cfl-s), then get some good fans minimum 2 fans, then get some ferts even if you dont like them and do exactly whats on the fert label.

hope it helps and you get better results this time.
keep up the good work...

how did you end up with 15 sprouts and only... 3 became plants.

I would say your first step is to take the beginning steps slowly and do them right.
germinate your seeds in wet paper towels for 24-48 hours until you see a little sprout/root popping out of the seed casing.
Plant your seed in cocoplugs or jiffy pucks.
Put your seeds in a clone dome for humidity purposes (keep the inside of the dome moist/misted but do not mist the plants directly. keep their pucks/plugs moist) until they have sprouted enough that the roots are showing from the bottom.
Once roots are showing transplant all the plants into pots and then follow the typical routine.
You do not need to feed your plants for at least 3-4 weeks, but you will need fertilizer. its pretty important and if you don't even have money for fertilizer then why even waste your time doing half the work? You might as well save yourself the electricity bill and water your yard.
