Starting from zero

Hi guys!

I just purchased a grow tent kit complete with wilma 4 pot system (using coco medium) and a carbon filter ventilation system. Furthermore a thermometer, higrometer, ph meter and ec meter were a part of the investment together with veg and bloom nutes. 400w mh(veg) & hps(bloom) will be used in the experiment.

I will be germinating feminised seeds in root riot kit. I have a couple of questions for the more experienced growers as I have found different information while looking for them on www.

Can I germinate under mh lighting?
Can I leave the dripper on 24/7? An air stone and heater will be in the tank. Clay pebbles on the bottom of the pots.
When and how much nutes for the first time?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

regards!

did zero work looking into all the work of the other members.. this will get many folks here in a SCREW YOU mentality.
There really are some members here who put in tons of time research and their own success in other peoples threads as well as their own..

Hope others here can answer your questions...

I would suggest doing a lot more research don't just jump in or you might just be wasting your time and money what type of nutes do you have

Hi! Thanks for your replies. I am an agricoultural technician by profession so I have quite an amount of knowledge in cultivating plants. Furthermore I have experience in outdoor growing, however this will be my first indoor hydro experiment. The questions that I have are more of a practical nature and I would like to receive feedback from growers that produce their yield in a similar way I do... Hydro drip system using coco medium as I have never used it. The fact that I just registered doesn't mean that I am a total newbie to the subject... Thanks for the add Burshaw420! Really happy to see people care!

google google google, I will tell you this, go to lowes and get a seed dome and some seedling soil. Put a heating pad on low under it and plant your seeds. Just get some cheap 25 watt lamp for the dome at lowes also and then put them in solo cups after that. Put holes in the solo cups and when the roots come through the bottom than you can move them to perm media. If you going hydro get the little black plugs and the clay pellets for the solo cups but start them in seedling soil. Transplant when they are about four inches tall.

I just gave my babies their first dose of nutes and they were 5 weeks old with several nodes in their perm homes.

I started them on twenty five percent of the dosage on the bottle. Going to increase as time goes on but you can under fert the babies but if you over you kill them dead overnight

Ok so do you have all of your supplys to set up the drip system I found a site that has everything about it here's the link http://www.hydroponics-simplified.com/hydroponic-drip-system.html
Heya! I do have it all on the way. More about the nutes when it all arrives. I invested about a mont into research so I'm quite sure I'm getting all I need to start my first operation... I have looked into watering intervals also and I just wanted to confirm if my plants wouldn't be over watered if the drip system would stay on 24/7. The way I see it if the nut solution would be oxiginated and as I would use clay pebbles on the bottom and coco as medium there would be sufficient oxygen for the roots so no problem for the plants... What do U say?

Sounds good to me
OK... All here, set up and seedlings in the wilma 4 pot hydro system under 400w MH on 18/6... In regards to the watering schedule I have been checking the ph level of the runof as it's being reused/repumped into the coco medium and decided to put it on a timer, 15 minutes every 4 hours in order to avoid overwatering and too much runoff into the reservoir which rises the ph level of the solution. Watering with no nutes and the ph level 5,8... In regards to the nutes received - H&G Cocos A & B for growth and A & B for flowering when the time comes... I intend to start adding 1/4 of nutes recommended when the second set of 5 set leaves starts showing and then slowly rise up to 1000ppm... Any comments or further advice... Will deffo post updates as I go along as I am always open for suggestions and eager to learn from more experienced growers!:)
