Stalks too LANKY!?

I just started to flower my plants a couple days ago but my stems are very skinny and weak because i vegged them under just a flourescent, and allowed them to grow fairly tall. (now i have a 1000w MH) They are all from 3-5 feet tall, i just stated bending my tallest single top plant horizontally so it develops more colas and reduces stress on the stem.

Does anyone have any more suggestions to help bulk up my stalks and increase the max bud capacity my stalks can take without snapping during flowering??

get a oscillating fan, the swaying motion makes the stem/stalk stronger.

hmm then why get a MH 1000 now and not a hps 1000

why the hell would u make the plant so tall and lanky for 3-5 FT!?!?

I would say your gonna have issues, but they are not impossible to grow. If you honestly vegged them for only like 2 weeks under the 1000w light...MH or HPS you will notice a ridiculous amount of growth, they will bulk up big time. And definitely add fans if you dont already have them.

I did start flowering them on the weekend i was just waiting for a couple smaller runts that had to grow a bit more, and i didnt get the 1000w mh until about 3 weeks ago (i wished i could have vegged them under it) , and it was free so id rather not buy a hps. They were just with a couple flourescents and a cfl before. I did keep them in smaller pots for a bit too long do you think that might have something to do with it?

and for issues, what are we talkin here like buds bieing too heavy and breaking a plant or something else?
and if i secure them and manage to keep them up with sticks and string lol, will they still possibly be able to get their average ammount of bud?

and has anyone heard of bending stems slightly every so often to make them stronger, it makes sense but does anyone have experience with it?

Ya could pinch/bend the stems. That will make them thicken up.

Hey i have a plant, my first ever try and was wonderin if any one give me a few tips. I posted some pictures on my profile and have some concerns about NO branching. I am getting buds, it was outdoors for a few months, but due to cold weather concerns here in S.E. MI i have moved it inside. It is in a homemade box with air flow and a Flourescent light. I could really use some KNOWLEDGEABLE help. All are welcome to comment on my situation as well as my photos. Thanks!
