harvest was nice... got over 2oz per auto.. i was way under a good grm/watt average.. but i was more than happy to get what i got from them... smoke is nice and good... very couch lock style.. they were a fun little experiment.. but nothing i would keep around and grow on a normal...
the ladies i am flowering now are looking amazing!! filling out wonderfully... 4 weeks in and dripping with resin already... they will be lovely in the end...
waiting on coco coir to come in so i can put the clones, seedling i have into their sites... get them vegging.. going to have to very aggressively veg them.. i think i am going to go well over a 2.0ec on them... the flowering girls are going up to a 3.0+ec next res change.. im going to POUND them with nutrients...
i have been thinking about a theory on nute burn.... i dont think it exists... well thats a bad way to put it.... let me try to explain it...
your plants root system controls the intake of water and nutes... it will only allow what is needed by the plant through... its not like a pump that continuously brings shit into the plant.. it only brings what it needs when it needs it...
so assuming you have a balanced ph (both water and soil are correct.. or just water in a hydro environment), good environmental conditions, and a strong plant/root system, i dont think you can actual burn your plants...
i think "burn" is cause by other factors...
1, stress.. a stressed plant wont absorb or utilize the nutes correctly.. this can cause a back up of nutes, or cause certain nutes to be over used while others are under used.. over used coming from the plants need to fix itself.. (think of a kid taking too much medicine to try to get better)... and that over utilization of a specific nute while others go under used is a major cause of burn...
2, ph issues.... always have to go into this... as it is true it causes huge issues... mainly because of how ph problems get fixed.... this pertains mostly to soil applications... but holds true to hydro too... in hydro its easy tho.. as long as your ph meter is calibrated right and the solution is ph'd right you should be fine... in soil tho.. its another area all together.. a lot of growers arent aware that you have to test soil ph with a soil ph meter... they assume if you water with ph6.5 water that the soil must be that ph also.. so they just feed and water like its nothing.... then all of a sudden the plant looks like shit and they wonder why.. its easy to pick the ph as the problem.. but then they want then they go the easy route of fixing it, which is ph up/down... and it works.. but the problem is how the ph got fucked in the first place.. which is due to salt build up... so when it gets corrected and everything becomes available again, the enviroment in the soil becomes SUPER toxic... there is an abundance of unused nutes.... plus there is a chance for osmotic shock.... those two things (a build up of unused nutes and osomtic shock) will cause your plant to freak out and appear burnt... without flushing the soil thoroughly prior to adjusting ph the problem doesnt get fixed...
i really have spent a lot of time thinking about this.. if we feed what the plant needs, and meet all other requirements, keeping everything in balance, then there is no way to over feed your plant.. its when things start getting out of balance with one another that the potential to "burn" becomes possible...
now this doesnt hold true for seedlings/sprouts.. there must be somewhat of an established root system.. but i think the idea holds true...
i even think when we see a little bit of brown around the edges of the plant its not a sign of burn, but a sign of a def... its the plant starting to pull nutes from the leaves to make up for the slight nute def it has... its not a huge def.. just a slight one.. next time you see that happening (if you do) increase the nutes by just a little and see if it doesnt improve..
this all comes from thinking obviously.. but from experiences as well.. and trial and error on my part.. not just some wack ideal... any thoughts??
