They have dug up two of my outdoors plants since they're getting ready for winter. Too bad where I live it doesn't get cold in the winter. Should I just shoot them or relocate my plants?

It might have been skunks! Put a fence around your plants! That worked for me after they dug up my plants. I am pretty sure there going for the bugs/grubs that moved into your most likely new garden soil since planting.

Hook em up with some poison peanuts, can buy em at lowes pretty cheap. Toss em around the area of your plants and it'll prevent future trouble makers at the same time :D

Shoot them and then cook em. Great eating.
That depends on what they have been foraging. Cook a squirrel from a conifer region and they taste like turpentine. If they eat acorns or pecans then they taste good. Good luck controlling them by killing them. They are territorial and as soon as that one bossy female is gone her archenemy then moves in. They disappear only for a short time. A dog is a much better idea and warns of human assholes as well.

BTW they are probably storing nuts underground and chose your plants because the soil is softer.

Thats why you give them poison peanuts, then bring them down to their little home and hook the whole fam up :)

Just what I was going to say, they aren't digging looking for food, they are burying food.
Eliminate the food source, and they will go elsewhere.

See your taking that a bit too far mate. Throwing a few poison peanuts around your grow is one thing. Your taking it to a totally different level there...

Different scale but same thing. Animals killing each other is the cycle of life. Someone poisoning the food chain is not the cycle of life..

Your statement was everything does at one point in life, it's just the cycle of life. So if someone spread rat poison over your veg patch without you knowing and your kid died from it, would it just be the cycle of life? No. Poisoning the food chain is poisoning the food chain.

Thanks for all the replies. There aren't any skunks around where I am. I have a fence too and they go through it. I think I'm going to sit outside and just shoot them with my bbgun.

So theres a squirrel by your plants and you get ready to shoot it and it runs up the tree onto a branch, you want to make sure he dont come back for your babies so you take the shot. Low and behold behind the tree by the bushes theres a person that gets shot by the same bullet that hits the squirrel and kills the person. But thats ok cause you didnt use poison peanuts so killing the person is justified?

And such hunting accidents do happen like that every year, so you cant say it wouldnt happen.

And if the off chance you use the bb gun defense, ppl can get hurt from them too they might not die but they can lose an eye.

In the UK we are sensible check we are safe to shoot before doing so.

And if it runs up a tree, chances are you are shooting, you know, upwards, how ma y 18 foot people have you met?

Stop trying to talk around you silly comment about poisoning a food chain being part of the cycle of life
