i too have coughed up little specks of red in my phlegm. i have also coughed up black stuff (likely pot tar) and i do not smoke cigarettes. I have told my family,..if i ever die of lung cancer to let it be known,..that marijuan amay actually cause this,..but thats IF i were t get lung cancer. i believe the blood in phlegm could be from various things. inflamed throat,.during cold or dry season alergies take effect in these areas. When blood vessels get dry,they bust,releasing small amounts of blood. the blood could come from in your mouth,on your tongue or even be something red you ate. who knows. all i know is, i feel fine and if i die smoking pot,..so be it. but cigarettes,..quit now. seems harmless (like pot) but the conclusions drawn from cigarette smoking are very real bro, very real.

its the cigarettes. smoke shermans, american spirits, or winstons.

shermans actually have more nicotine, and when i smoked heavily i relied on shermans to provide a good source of the nic. lol.

or you can just quit and stick to herb.

dude sorry to hear of it. i hope theres nothing wrong with you, it might be benign but you gotta get it checked or bad things might happen. also, not pressing my view upon people but i think cig smoking is stupid, of course, i understand that addiction is still extremely hard to break. anyway just my two cents

Ya there bad for you. . .I look at it this way, Anything that says it will give you cancer on the side of it. . .Dont touch it. ha. and with that said I smoked for 3 years and quit cold turkey. i have been cig. free for. . .4 months today as a matter of fact. Just stay strong and quit. If you can make it past 2 weeks. You can stay off of them. Hope your ok and hope you put those things down.

I am on my 8th day of not smoking, Been on that new drug chantix for 2 weeks. I really feel good. I still want a cigarette occasionally, but it is not like I am jonesing for one, it is just the habit. I think I may actually kick it this time after numerous trys and 24 years

cigarettes are evil. its more population control by our government. Cigarettes and alcohol are legal because it kills. Marijuana is illegal because it doesnt.
but anyways sorry about my conspiracy theories. i have many. but stay away folks from these little devils.
